Help with speaker placements/rearranging setup!
Hey everyone, I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a while and have been loving all of the awesome arrangements you guys have — now I need your help with my own!
My dad recently gifted me his old tower speakers, so now I have the option to upgrade my apartment’s listening area. Setup #1 (pics 1-3) is my current arrangement — my listening nook is positioned pretty far away from the seating area, and the speakers are a bit too close, but it’s protected from the sun + takes up the space nicely.
Setup #2 (pics 4-6) is an option I’ve been thinking of — now the tower speakers are directly across from the seating area, but the turntable would have to be awkwardly placed in front of my window (which gets a LOT of sun) as I can’t hang the TV on the wall. It’s currently on the floor because the audio cables are too short to reach over there. I have thought of getting one of those 4x1 Kallax units and putting it under the windowsill (I measured and it would definitely fit) but I’d have to move pretty much everything that’s already there out of the way.
Pics 7 and 8 are the full layouts of my apartment — as you can see, I don’t have much space to work with. The weird wall creates an alcove that blocks the noise from coming over to my seating area, and I can’t put anything in front of the A/C unit to block airflow. I also would prefer not to switch my couch/TV around as the lightswitches are routed to the plugs in such a way where it wouldn’t be feasible.
I still have the speakers I was using previously (pic 9) that I could hypothetically put on the two bookshelves in Setup #1, but I worry about the vibrations it would cause. Pic 10 is dog tax from when he was last visiting me.
Any and all help/suggestions are much appreciated, and if you have an idea for a different arrangement entirely, I’d love to hear it!
