Favorite corner of the house 🎶

Every record, poster, and little piece up here has a story attached to it and somehow this corner has become a tiny scrapbook…places I’ve been and shows I’ve loved…and songs that have gotten me through every season of life. Hell yeah 🤘🏻

New Collector!

Hey guys, just started really collecting vinyls. Here are some of my current vinyls and my current setup :) Looking into buying some outer sleeves to keep them stable!

Need help figure out my next setup

My current setup is shit. It's a suitcase turntable which I got as a gift and a Marshall Acton III. I had the money to buy the Edifier R1280DB, but my ass thought I would be really different by not getting Hi-fi, and punching the sound through a single cone would be alt. And don't get me wrong, some of the records really sounded better. But it definitely cannot do AIC or Deftones. Or even Linkin Park for that matter. Anything with major distortion gets clipped.

So, I've done my research. And this is what I'm thinking:
Pro-Ject E1 Phono with Q Acoustics M20HD.
The reason I'm going with the M20 is that I also game, and I currently do not have space/budget to add a soundbar to my shelf. I'd rather find one set of output and use that.

I thought of going for the Klipsch R-51PM, but it's $200 more than what I'm getting the M20HD for.

Note: The image attached is not my setup lol

Girlfriend loves my system

Wanted to share my happiness here. Been dating this girl for a little and mentioned I have a stereo in storage that I can’t setup at my house. I asked her if she had ever heard a real stereo in the $10,000 range and she said no but she loves music and got very excited by the idea.

I set it up and when she saw the records she flipped and pulled out a couple choice picks. Coltrane, Nina, Mingus but we ended up listening to Kid A first.

Boys, I tell you she had the exact reaction we all hope someone has when hearing a real stereo. She couldn’t believe it. Her eyes were closed when I started playing it and First thing she said “I’m hearing so many things I’ve never heard before”. Shortly followed by “so this is what music is supposed to sound like?”.

After a bit I started talking nerd shit about the speakers and then caught myself and said “nevermind this is really nerdy” and she said “go on I want to hear about it”. I explained some more and we listened to Coltrane after and she couldn’t have been more thankful. She said “I’m never going to leave my house when I’m not working” and thanked me over and over.

We’ve already spent hours upon hours listening to records together and her taste in music is immaculate. She might be a keeper!

What lights do yo use?

What lights do you use to light up your vinyl on shelves or in cabinets?

Do you prefer strip or puck lights?

Picture for the requirements.

My new old setup so far.

I currently have my audio technica lp60 with Bluetooth but I am looking for suggestions to upgrade my turntable with something new or vintage!

Got it where I like it

Been collecting records for about 16 years and more recently got into vintage gear. The gear has taken a little over 2 years to collect.
