I had given up my 5.0AH for dead

I bought a 650CFM blower with 56 v5.0AH in about 2020. After several months of good use, the battery wouldnt charge properly. I got separated and ultimately divorced around the same time and so the battery and blower went into storage for some time. Three years ago (2023), I moved in with my GF and stored the unit in a climate controlled garage. Every now and then I contemplated what to do with this blower and seemingly bricked battery. Warranty period had expired. I looked at new batteries but couldnt stomach paying $300 plus for a new battery when I got less than a year usage out of the first one. I considered buying an aftermarket battery but never pulled the trigger. That left me scouring FB marketplace for a preowned one that I could test before I bought. Problem was I could never find a 5.0AH, always came across 2.5AH etc.

In the meantime, I had been using an electric blower that my GF had. A little while ago, the extension cord I had failed. Being too lazy to get out to buy a new one and because I dont want to give more of my money to the big A, I thought to do more research and maybe see if I can get the Ego 5.0 running. I put it on the charger and the charger read solid red: overheating. After spending some time researching, I came across the "drop the battery" method to fix the battery. I also read from the user on here that used to service them that a rubber mallet was better. Well of course I couldnt find my rubber mallet, so I used a standard hammer. A few taps and I put it back on the charger, and... you know this ends well... the battery seemingly fully charged and I just ran the blower for the first time in six years! Thanks to all in here that share knowledge; yall rock!
