Hi Sketchup Make 2017 help?

so I've been using SketchUp for 10 years now and I've had this issue the entire time. whenever i add too much detail or import too many objects i get this weird "cut away" effect if I'm too close to my model. id post a video but it doesn't seem like i can here. can anyone help? and please dont tell me to buy a newer sketchup or to use the web browser version

Am i screwed?

1986 dated US Army combat boots, is was my third time wearing them. They were NOS the leather was still soft the rubber isnt cracked or dry rotted they were in every aspect Mint. When i went to put them on i pulled on the tongue with the same amount of force i always do and it ripped. Can they be fixed?
