found some really retry fabric and wanted to try a full skirt design and some doubled lined sleeves and i think it turned out pretty! she still needs some edging on the corset and the jewellery and whatnot but this is a start and wanted to share!

Had the idea recently to turn some spare doll parts into Halloween decorations and instead ended up with this cool girl!
The head is a Unicorn Academy Layla that was a body donor for a skipper head. I painted over one of her eyes with iridescent purple paint, gave her some darker blushing around her eyes and added some scars with water colour pencils and a bit of the paint.
Body is a skipper body. I cut off the neck peg and used Fimo Air clay to sculpt the fire, painted it with black acrylic paint, and then used blue, purple, and silver paint pens to add the colour. Also added a bit of the iridescent paint to her hands for a bit of magic residue.
She’s borrowed the dress from Barbie basics 03, but I may make her her own. Shoes are ones I bought years ago for a pukifee.
I was not expecting to love Miss Dulcie so much! Happy to have something to use the stiff body for.

Body base is a Rainbow High Sunny Madison doll. I hand sewed the dress and made her shoes from scratch. The bells hanging from her wrists were found in a charm store's rummage bin.
This doll is inspired by a monster from Czech mythology - Vodník (Water Goblin - a ghost who drowns people and lives underwater, that’s why the doll is wearing a bikini haha), the last photo is the inspiration. If you’d like to see more of her, you can go on my instagram @cursedslaviccreature ❤️
Lots of futzing to bring Cinderella to life. Of course within the futzing for the skirt, I end up accidentally shortening the skirt an 1” and now it’s ankle length 🫠
This is still one of my favorite doll repaints...I used a new technique of flocking her body to create a fur like effect to imitate a little maple moth ☺️. I’ve been wanting to get into this hobby for a while and finally made the jump! I painted my reptilian oc Lacerta onto a Create-A-Monster MH gorgon. The face sculpt really helped guide me. She did end up with a bit of a thousand yard stare 😩 but I can always repaint her in the future!
How do you guys think it should go?
I have a couple of cheap dupes or characters I didnt really want and im becoming interested in this community so as a newb who's only watched videos what should I know?
Do I need special tools for rerooting? Is there a way to tie the hair? What glue do you use to set the hair?
What are the best tools for face ups?
What are some things to do or not to do when repainting?
Any other helpful tips are welcome, like telling material apart

I wanted to share the beautiful mix-and-match tea set I purchased from @ensatinacreates this weekend at the Resin Rose BJD Expo! After this weekend at the convention, I also realized I need a better way to secure my Landoudou head to the doll's body. For posing at home, putty has worked fine, but it was very shaky when walking around all day. Does anyone have the same body or neck peg, or have an idea of how to troubleshoot this? The body is the 21cm Piccodo Action Figure 🍞🥐

Hi! I’d like to make a custom figure of Him (Powerpuff girls) using a BJD-style body, but I’m not sure how to handle the front hairline since the hair would be styled swept back. Any ideas on how to make a wig like that?

A little passion project I've been working on.. I wanted to challenge myself with my CAD program to make something you can use and I am very pleased with the result!
As you can see I have tested it on one of my dolls as well.
Not because customising the doll was particularly difficult, but the fucking dress!! I went through months of procrastination while trying to avoid it. In the end, I managed to make the pattern AND complete the dress within a single day, thus completing the doll. She still needs a necklace, but other than that, I am pretty happy with her.
She is originally a mermaid odile, but to get the proper height difference with the Creature (pic 3) I swapped her Mattel's Cho Chang doll body. That body is TINY, which made the dress all the more difficult to construct.
