r/Starfield

Changed Tau Ceti II to a planet with massive oceans and huge islands
I was going to sort of hurry to get through one unity but now idk if I want to
Curious how many people did the unity once, or not at all.
I hear the ship is not so good and that’s the only thing I would want. And the suit I guess, well the cloaked one, and I think that’s a few universes deep.
But spending all this time on my ships wouldn’t make sense. I don’t think I’m the power gamer the unity is made for. Idk. Just yapping.
The point of unity is to let go
Now let me start but saying that everybody will play the game the game however they want.
Hear me out though...
The beauty of Starfield compared to past Bethesda titles is how procedural generation shapes your experience.
Main story quests could be in completely different locations every time you do them.
Also the game has an absurd amount of content(I have done the UC vanguard and halfway though Freestar.... at 200 hours!!)
You can easily divide the content in a couple of RP runs, especially with some nice paid mods.(and without doing the same stuff each run.)
Right now my level 66 character has crazy weapons, fully upgraded ship, countless recourses.
So yeah the games theme is other realities, dimensions etc.
This along with all the above makes me not wanna get anything with me. Not even a single pistol.
What's the point of starting over if you just bring all the op stuff with you?
Do you even use all the stuff you acquired?
Forget all those Darkstar legendaries, all the Xtech, all the Astra. Your super OP spaceship that you spend so many hours creating. Your outposts.
Let go, screw the dopamine. And go thrive as a newborn character.
Sysdef Questline: "Mate! I just shot up the entire compound. Just hand it over and stop telling me your life story."
Back to the Sysdef questline's first attempt of the Neon quest. Though I ultimately redid it to not get kicked out of the questline, I was still completely shocked that I barged into this guy's office, basically shouted at him to give me the tech, and he still started insisting on complaining about his brother and family issues.
I don't CARE!
Issue isn't that th dialogue is there, but how even replies that are about you meaning business don't stop him from telling you about it.
For new players, don’t do what I did
I know you might wanna jump to the higher level solar systems to get the higher level loot and all that. That’s what I did at least and now I’m going back to the level 40 solar systems and the level 30 solar systems and I’m finding locations I have never seen before so I’m on level 85 or something I went back to a level 40 solar system. I just found a concrete plant now I’ve been playing for hundreds and hundreds of hours. I’ve never seen a concrete plant before. What I’m trying to say is try and stick to right around the level your character is you’ll be able to play the game for so much longer and have a lot more fun. Maybe makes it difficulty a little bit harder because for a lot of people it could be fairly easy. This is just my take do with it what you will but this is what I found.
If Sentient AI Adapters are contraband why does no one have a problem with Vasco?
I mean he seems self-aware.
Google had a meltdown trying to translate Ryujin logo
I opened circle to search and tried scanning the Ryujin logo. Didn't type anything as a question. Just circled the image to scan it for a search. Google had a complete meltdown. I was just curious if the symbol actually meant something in another language.
Honestly the message was quite inspiring 😂
Not sure why the other language up top was included lol
Does the symbol actually mean Ryujin? And does that have a meaning? I'm scared to ask Google lol
Starfield backlash...?
Hello lads and ladies,
So I finally picked up the PS5 version of Starfield and started playing for the first time. My biggest regret?? Why the hell did I not purchase this game sooner!!!
Back when it launched in 2023, I remember the internet absolutely tearing this game apart. Everywhere I looked people were calling it bland, boring, repetitive, shallow, disappointing, etc. I kept hearing complaints about weak, generic planetary exploration, poor gameplay mechanics, bad writing, forgettable characters, and an unsatisfying story — especially stacked against other Bethesda titles.
After playing the game now, I can't stop thinking… What the hell am I not seeing here?
I'm about 40 hours in now, and I've experienced NONE of the issues the internet whined about.
I know I’ve probably only scratched the surface, but this game has been absolutely incredible so far. I have not found myself bored..ONCE. I've honestly been blown away by the sheer amount of things I'm able to do.
- The Hundreds of skill combinations available allowing the creation of a unique character developed for a specific, unique, style of playthrough.
-Ship building/customization: Modify a ship you buy/steal or basically build one from scratch. Everything from small, agile fighters for bounty hunting, to clunky cargo haulers for moving merchandise, to hulking battleships for sporting large crews and massive weapon systems.
-Outpost construction: Construct an unlimited number of compounds on any of the literally hundreds of unique worlds visited through the exploration of different systems that in turn contain a plethora of cities, colonies, space stations, planetside compounds/facilities, as well as numerous points of interest to visit at your behest.
-There are also numerous scripted encounters with NPCs possibly initiated upon travel through the various systems leading to additional tasks/activities for completion.
-There are literally hundreds of faction quests, side missions, dailies, ect. — it feels endless.
Honestly, the characters and crew members have been way more engaging than people made them out to be as well. Of course there is Bethesda's signature romance options available as well. I’ve actually been enjoying the story as too.
Then you throw mods into the mix and it feels like a game I could easily sink 900-1000 hours into across multiple playthroughs without breaking a sweat.
So now I’m wondering… was Starfield basically another Cyberpunk 2077 situation? Was it rough or borderline broken at launch and eventually patched into a near masterpiece?
Because from where I’m sitting right now, I genuinely cannot understand why so many people trashed this game right after it launched, and why I listened, when I could have been enjoying an awesome game much sooner than now.
I just can't help but be curious what others thought of the game at launch and what they think now???
How is the permanent chameleon bug still not fixed in 2026????
New PS5 player here. Loving the game, except for one thing. Every single time I go chameleon while crouching and snipe somebody, I am permanently invisible. Never fails. It is beyond annoying.
The internet is absolutely littered with ppl complaining about the same issue. Bethesda has to be aware. I am truly baffled this issue has persisted so long. Such an immersion breaking bug when you want to lean into stealth.
Any tips outside of restarting the game are greatly appreciated
Found this in Neon
Just lazily swimming in the air.
Anybody just not marry a companion?
I really love Sam in the game, but tbh, I prefer him as some brother in arms. Kinda like the Arthur and John trope. After marrying him in my first playthrough, I didn’t really like the flirting stuff, so I just decided to not commit.
Just Finished the Crimson Fleet quest line for the second time.
Much better experience this time, was much less rushed, and I spent far more time on exploring and interacting. Got all of the "evidence" slates, and and it made a significant difference at the end. Spent a lot of time exploring the Legacy, and it was a better, more moving experience. Think I may wear the Legacy Captain's hat for the rest of the game. Highly recommend taking your time through it all.
The reason we are all double checking empty tp rolls.
It just sits there mockingly. Nothing to unlock nearby.
Baby turn around 💍 .... ( the location is perfect )
The proposal to Sarah must be unique and exceptional!
Heart Broken (In Game)
In my third universe now. Did a really long play through in my home universe where I avoided constellation and the factions for 50’ish levels and 200 hours of play. I kept busy being a space libertarian, not taking sides, and looking after my self. I made outposts and farms, I took bounty’s, did lots of exploration, and had fun in the Starfield universe.
I stopped playing for about a year after that, life got busy. When Freelanes was announced I made time to play again. I decided to check out the rest of the game this time and went back to Constellation to join in. I rescued this intriguing woman, though I think she really needed rescue in.
She became my closet ally as we unraveled the mystery of the artifacts. She accompanied me on most missions. She was there when the only other friend I had, Barrett, was shot and killed on the eye by the person that would shape the trajectory of the rest of my life.
She stayed by my side while we visited the moon of earth. Expolered the runs of Earth and learned the truth behind it’s demise. Ultimately she stood beside me while we decided to the buried temple. I would not side with either of the invaders in my universe so the two of us killed them both.
After helping me uncover the truth of the artifacts and the unity I helped her in return. We tracked down former friends of hers and a contact to her past. We told each other we loved one another. But Unity was the goal. So I stepped through.
I arrived in new universe and told the people that looked like my friends the truth about me. I met another version of my love but she was the same person. A man that looked like my friend Barrett survived this time. I owned it to my friend to help this version of him find peace with the lose of his husband. With that done I left that universe behind.
This third universe I decided to repeat my life, in place of dead version of my self. I missed my love and gave into that pain. I don’t know if the me of this universe would have met her and fell in love but I did. We married and were happy. Until the Hunter returned. I made sure to keep Barrett safe. If the hunter wanted him he’d have to get through me. The universe didn’t take to kindly to that. The Hunter still spilled blood, my wife’s.
I saved my friend and lost my love all over again. The first time we made the choice to jump in to the unknown hoping to find each other again. This time she was taken from me. I was on the verge of stepping out the airlock when I heard a transmission. A kindly shanty song by a lonely traveler. I don;’t know if the universe knew I needed to hear that song at that moment. But I did need it.
Sorry for the long story, and I know my writing isn’t great. I think this is an amazing game and while I meta engineered a tragic story for my Starborn to lose some of his humanity I though it was amazing that the singing captain just happened to be right where I jumped after Andrja’s death.
