2010 Sedan

Relocated back to the US after about 10 years away, and got this 2010 Yaris with impeccable documented maintenance history, with 55,000 miles on it.

Operation protect the Yaris

Success! Large hail warning came through so I had to jump into action. The storm ended up being minor, but better safe than sorry!

Started out by covering it with some foam and a thermorest, but moved to putting it in our ‘garage’. It was a tight fit to get it in there and took a few spotters to get around a telephone pole and tree.

What are your thoughts on 2005 Toyota Yaris VVT-I?

I’m in the market for a car and an acquaintance is selling their 2005 Yaris for $2800. The car has 55,000 miles on it and seems to be in good working order.

I’ve heard that Toyotas can get up to 200k miles, but how does the age of the vehicle play in to factor.

Would this be a good purchase?

Question regarding idle sound (170k km): Toyota 1NR-FE (1.3 Yaris)

Hi everyone.

I have a Toyota Yaris with the 1NR-FE engine (170,000 km). I have noticed a specific sound while idling, mainly right after a cold start. As the engine reaches operating temperature, this sound decreases or becomes much less noticeable.

I would like to know if this is a typical characteristic of this engine block at this mileage. I am attaching a video so you can hear it. My main question is whether this sound is part of the normal operation of the fuel injectors and the injection system in this model, or if it is something I should consider looking into regarding the timing chain system.

I appreciate any experiences you might have with this engine.

Thanks for your comments and wish you a nice weekend!

Yaris 2015 rust Germany

I have sanded most of the rust away and used some rust convertor followed by anti rust spray and black paint over the underbody and wax spray in the interior of the control arm. Not the ifeal treatment of course but i want to hear some opinions

How bad is it?

Unfortunately, my Yaris was involved in an accident. How bad would you say the damage is? My mechanic won’t be open until Monday.

Merci d'avance :)

What's the modern equivalent of the Yaris Verso?

This is the best car I have ever owned and I am wondering what would be a more modern equivalent? Its pretty much the same size as a normal Yaris and therefore very easy to park in a city, although it's not a big car it certainly feels like one on the inside, the rear seats fold under the front seats and leave a lot of space in the back, I have even slept in the back of this thing (diagonally and not the most comfortably but still).

Is there anything like this from say 2012 onwards? Fold away seats rather than pulling a bench out and storing it somewhere? I thought about something like the Berlingo/kangoo but they are quite a bit bigger (60cm longer). I think that's the right direction but I wanted to know if I was missing any options.

Possible to sleep in a yaris?

Is it possible to sleep in a Yaris? Mine is 2010 sedan 4D. What's this part of the car between the trunk and seats called? It's preventing me from camping/sleeping inside the car :(

Would a new Yaris Hybrid with 116 hp be powerful enough to cruise on the highway for 3-4 hours or should I opt for a 125hp Yaris Cross?

Need a car to drive on the highway but also is small (under 4.2-4.3 meters) and ideal for the cramped Europe downtown streets. The thing is I need to go to my home city every 2 weeks which is 250 miles /400 km away. So if sometimes I want to go to 80 will the Yaris be powerful enough or maybe I should go for the manual yaris cross with 125 hp although I want an automatic. The thing about is from what I understand on the highway the hybrid Yaris uses its 90hp engine which is way less than the 125hp of the Cross.

The 130 hp yaris is not available in my country for now but from what I understand on the motorway it will still default to 90hp.
