Tamiya RC Toyota GR Yaris Evangelion Unit-01 Itasha

Driving video:

https://youtu.be/Yx6OmvW3GbU?is

Building the M-05L chassis was easy. Just take care of acquiring a full set of ball bearings first, take note of the supplied correction sheet for servo attachment, and choose your desired wheelbase configuration.

But the bodyshell was quite an undertaking. 7 different colors of Lexan paints: Black, purple, neon green, orange, with white as backing between each color change, silver as the final backing, and smoke for the window tint.

70 (!) stickers had to be carefully cut out from the supplied sticker sheet and meticuously applied on the body. Most of them went into defining the window gaskets, lights and grill. Inner light buckets (non-illuminated though), side mirrors and license plates had to be attached separately.

Finally, I applied some Neon Genesis Evangelion vinyl stickers for the Itasha look.

Driving the M-05L is fun! Quick, turns well and does reverse 180 turns on command.

My little guy

My little Yaris, xp130i with a 1kr-fe. My first car, passed down through my family since it rolled off the factory floor. It’s served me well and I’ve tried to serve it back by getting it repaired after someone T-boned me on a roundabout

My Yaris 2022 tells me that I used 73% EV on this trip. But the MyT App tells me I only used 64%. Which one should I believe, and why the discrepancy?

high break pedal

Hi all,

I’m a very short driver and loving my new Toyota Yaris, but I’m struggling with the driving position.

If I move the seat back enough so my foot can comfortably reach the brake pedal without my ankle being too bent, I end up too far from the steering wheel. I’ve already pulled the wheel toward me as far as it goes. The brake pedal also feels a bit high for me.

Has anyone else had this issue, especially shorter drivers? Any tips or adjustments I might be missing would be appreciated.

My new rice cooker

Just wanted to show you guys my new 2004 Yaris TS. I really love how it drives and how practical it is. Gonna get some mods for my car very soon and will post some updates.

The paint is starting to crack up and it generally needs some love but it has a sun roof which I have heard is pretty rare for this model. This was one of my main reasons why I have bought this car tho.
And of course the song „Whys this dealer“

If you have any questions just ask me! And if you have any tips or mod suggestions just tell me!

2007 Yaris runs perfect… Until RPM drops

I love my car, been driving it for 6 months, but the previous owner was not a good owner at all. For maybe 1 month and half, my 2007 Toyota Yaris hatchback (240630 miles) randomly stumbles ONLY when slowing down/braking and RPMs drop near idle. Never really happens under acceleration.

Started with a P0301 and a bad coil, replaced plugs + coil. Since then I cleaned CKP/CMP sensors, replaced clogged PCV, fixed loose coil connectors, oil change (also fixed the carter since previous owner fcked the screw), cleaned throttle body (recently). Also, while the vehicle was running, I checked that any wire or electrical part is loosen.

The weird part is sometimes it drives PERFECTLY for hours, mostly happens hot/daytime, CEL comes on solid during the stumble, then the car recovers and keeps driving normal, acceleration is actually strong/smooth most of the time. Car has never had issues with overheat tho.

After cleaning the throttle body, throttle response improved immediately and so far the stumbling seems reduced. I cleaned it today, HOPING by tomorrow is good to go while go to work (I’ll keep updated)

Anybody with a 1NZ-FE experienced: stumble during deceleration only, random CEL during RPM drop, and then, normal driving afterward?

Trying not to throw random parts at it 😭

Toyota Yaris trouble starting

Hello!

I'm having a problem with my Toyota. Basically, the car has trouble starting when the engine is cold (it makes a cranking sound, but for now, it usually starts). If I go somewhere, stop for a little bit, and then restart the engine, it starts fine. I changed the car battery because it was relatively old (6–7 years), but the issue persists. When the car is turned off, the battery itself reads 12.8–12.9V, and when running, it reads 14.11–14.14V (after a half-hour of driving).

So, what else can I check? Spark plugs are not very likely the cause, as they were changed 3–4 years ago (and I have only driven 30,000 km since then). I'm reading about potential problems with fuel pressure. How do I diagnose that? Is there anything else I should check?

Sound of problematic start: https://imgur.com/G00t1Cw

Moon disks?

I’ve had these civic wheels on my yaris for 5 years (shown in image 2-4). I’m tired of them.

If i reinstall my steel wheels and put these moon disks covers on how silly would that look? please share opinions

This car is fun, it looks like a toy. I’m just leaning into that at this point.

Clearcoat

09 Yaris with 210k on it. Kid is in college college , so repainting it isn't a priority or in the budget. Is there anything that we should be doing to salvage the paint in its current condition? Compound? Wax? Cheap clearcoat? I know this is a common problem, would love to hear what people are doing.

Weekend trip with Yaris 2013

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share a picture from the 380 km weekend trip I took with my car. It has 167,000 km on it and still drives really well. I'm very happy with it!

Wish you all a nice start of the week!

My first car!!! 2006 Toyota Yaris T-Spirit (1.3L)

I paid £950 for this fantastic car. I've not had much chance to drive her yet, but so far I'm honestly very happen. A few bits and pieces for rust on the MOT but that's pretty much it (other than a brake disc) so I deemed it fair enough. 99,000 miles on the clock, TSpirit trim so all kinds of awesome extras (climate control where you set the temperature, keyless entry, all the good stuff!)

Bodywork isnt brilliant. Quite a few dings and dents etc but I'm not that fussed. First car things, I'll probably do it myself anyway... (Don't tell anyone but I already broke my left mirror glass. Whoops...)

Pretty sure it's had a new clutch, approximately in 2020 from my judgement looking at it's MOT. It definitely feels like it too - the bite point is very low and easy to get to!

Not driven it a whole lot yet, but so far I find it surprisingly comfortable and it doesn't feel cramped inside at all despite being a small car. It surprised me with all kinds of little things like that as time went by. Ride height feels taller than it is with the seat adjustment allowing me to push it higher up.

I'm also a massive fan of the digital dash. Seriously gives me retro vibes whilst simultaneously seeming modern! Insane for a 20 year old car :)

I've been learning in my driving instructor's Ford Focus mainly, 2018, 2 litre turbodiesel. So it's definitely a lot to take in and learn, but I'm picking it up as we go.

I think I did brilliantly. Let me know your thoughts!!

Weird sound, Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2007 (1.5cc)

Hi there! I’ve been driving this Yaris for almost 6 months now, it was a used car, so lately I’ve been working on some stuff. Anyways, I didn’t drive it for maybe 1 week and half because I was having issues with the carter, CPK and ignition coil (all fixed now, thankfully), but I started to get this annoying sound recently and I’m trying to figure out what that is exactly. This is my first car, and I’ve learned a lot about it, but before doing something I rather to ask y’all if you can help me, if I can fix it or check it by myself, or if I need assistance with my mechanic. Thanks!
