Car update time! Exhaust edition

So ive been wanting a full 2" exhaust done but no time to take it to a shop. So i bought a cheap flux core welder and a exhaust kit from amazon. Now i have a full 2in exhaust from the bottom of the downpipe to the Fujitsubo exhaust. I have a leak from a blown out donut but it sounds great!

Yaris cross 130, perché “si” o “no”

Ciao, sono in dubbio ma tra tutte ho scremato ed è rimasta quest’auto. Importante: considerate che io passerei da un termico (turbodiesel 90cv) a un ibrido con cambio cvt. Come vi trovate? Pregi ma anche e soprattutto lamentele. Faccio circa 10k km annui e l’uso sarà prevalente in autostrada. Anche in city ma meno. La userò anche mista, in collina (salite e discese), visto che abito in Liguria. Se potete, anche consigli per la miglior guida e allungarne la vita. Grazie a tutti.

MK1 Yaris 1SZ-FE 1L vs 2SZ-FE 1.3L

I'm looking for a 03-05 Yaris to have fun little car to drive around and practice fixing up. Would be pretty much only town driving, rarely on the motorway at 60-70mph.

Which one should I opt for? I only care about reliability and running costs, not performance. Does one have more issues than the other, like excessive oil consumption? I did read in an old forum the 1L burns a lot at high mileage (like most engines due to valve seals or rings). Anyone have experience with this. Would be good to know.

Probably going to be buying a 100k+ miler unless I can get lucky with a low mileage car.

Wheel fitment 2012 Yaris

Has anybody fit Mini Cooper 4x100 rims from a similar year ( 2010 or so) to their Yaris? I know the bolt pattern is the same, and I believe the center hole is 2mm larger than the Yaris, but is the offset wrong? TIA!

Yaris Sedan Strut Noise

Had my front struts done recently and ever since then I’ve had this creaking problem when I fully turn my steering wheel. I initially suspected its the rubber absorber mount and my mechanic greased it. However the problem persisted. He said the problem may be the mount itself and asked if I could get a replacement from my supplier but he said that youre not supposed to grease it and denied my claim. What should I do at this point…

Absorber mount part number 48609-0D100
Genuine toyota part btw

Does anyone know for a fact that usdm 2007 to 2011 yaris suspension will fit usdm 2012 to 2019 yaris suspension? I've heard of people that put trd lowering suspension from previous yaris on newer and it bolts on. I am looking to get these installed but it says it fits older yaris . But I have a 2016

I'm new here, be nice :)

Hello everyone,

After a major 1.2 PureTech trauma there was no other option but to lease a Toyota. I recently started leasing a 2024 Toyota Yaris🎉

So far I'm really, really happy and pleased. I drive about 30K km a year, short trips to and from work and long trips in between on my days off. So I think the 12V battery will be fine.

My work trips are already saving money with a 75%-85% EV usage on them.

Any tips or advice on maintenance are welcome!

Does anyone else get a warning when the car is in N at the carwash? Something about the battery needing to charge and not to leave it in neutral too long? As soon as I was out of the carwash it was gone though and the battery isn't dead or sth at all.

What engine to buy

Hello everyone 😁

I am currently looking at 2nd gen Yaris (1.3 or 1.33 petrol) and first gen Auris (1.4 or 1.33 i think, not bigger ones for the insurance price) for my wife, in France, under 150.000km.

I would like to know some expert/mechanics opinions on them, to choose which to buy 🙏🏻

Thank you in advance

Hi! Would love to get some feedback from yaris club.
I would like to buy Yaris Hybrid and I found one (year 2020; 1.5vvtie y20 edition; cca. 64.000 km; 1 owner) with asking price 13.200 eur.

Do you think this is a good deal or should I look a bit more? I'm in no hurry.

Thank you :)

Easy DIY job turned into a pain in the ass

I thought it was gonna be easy to install a sway bar, turns out I was wrong I didn't thought about the brake lines

Everyone hates my Yaris, I do too 😂

2017 Toyota yaris iA manual

Aftermarket rims, lowered 3 inches, diy custom decals, light bar, and 4 subs and 4 tweaters wired in

Tell me why you hate it and I'll probably agree 😂

What needed replacing in your Yaris so far?

Please write MK, year, milleage and engine. I'll start:

MK3, 2012 (produced end of 2011), 110k miles (approx 177k km), 1.3 vvti, RHD)
replaced appart from parts that use with time like brakes etc:
- clutch at approx 70-80k miles but it was to be expected, especially in mostly urban use
- AC compressor - after about 90k miles, bought the cheapest I could get, approx 150 quid.
- alternator (not long ago), and had I been far from home it would end up with hauling, as it was just dying. no lights, no radio, no power steering.
- washer pumps, already broke twice, both front and rear and both needed replacing twice within last 1.5 year. weird
- battery twice already, but it's to be expected I guess
- front brake calliper was heating line mad so needed replacing at about 85k miles
- exhaust pipe
- some more minor things like rattling gear box heat cover under
- been hit in the back few times by drivers who like to drive on your bumper, and once (of what I know) in the front bumper.

won't count front bulbs that burn quite often (about once a year), oil changes, tyre changes (sometimes problems with wheel aligning leading to thread being more cut in one spot), and break changes

so far the most surprising was alternator that just died. Luckily, it was a short distance from home (less than mile) so I managed to get home. Most expensive fix was clutch, about 600 quid. Apart from it car is still fine ish. Wouldn't say it's as super as as people praise it (some say only change oil etc), but it does it's job. We'll run it till it dies (hopefully another 5 years in urban English environment) and next car will be most likey Japanese, most likely Toyota Yaris (or Starlet if they bring it back at a reasonable price)

Yaris Sway bar

I asked like 2 weeks ago that my 2007 yaris has lots of body roll and the most frequent answer was to add a rear sway bar. The problem is that I live in Spain and want to pass the tecnical inspection (ITV). If someone knows of a cheap bar with homologation that is sold/shipped to Spain for my yaris if there's any, or a rear sway bar needs to be homologated in spain? Also, if there were no sway bars available, changing the shocks while maintaining the springs is a good idea? and if there were shock recommendations it would be phenomenal
