2007 MK2 1.4D-4D diesel Yaris long-term fuel consumption

I'd like to share the fuel consumption statistics of my old Yaris for reference. I recorded every fill-up like a maniac so I hope it will be useful to someone.

Records are between 2018 June - 2025 August (7 years 2 months).

Total recorded mileage: 79,892 km (49,643 miles)

ODO from 184,990 km to 264,882 km (from 114,947 miles to 164,540 miles)

I can say it's half urban and half extra urban driving.

Average: 5.03 l/100km (46.8 mpg)

Goodbye old friend. You will be missed.

My detailed journal. i hope it guides others

This sub helped me a lot in getting information and keeping my spirits high. I learned a lot specifically from people who have similar conditions as mine. The hardest part is the unforeseeable future while you are overwhelmed with the fact that you have cancer, and reading the journeys of people before me helped me incredibly.

So I would like to keep my journal here as it progresses and try my best to answer questions. I hope it helps others.

2026 July:

initial diagnosis. had been feeling a painless hard lump in my right testicle for a year which progressively got bigger. finally went for a check. manual examination + ultrasound found several suspicious lesions (largest 22×11 mm) + blood test. beta-hcg: 94, afp: 212. decision for removal. radical orchiectomy next day.

Pathology shows: malignant mixed germ cell tumor, pT2. 60% seminoma, 25-30% yolk sac tumor, 10-15% embryonal carcinoma, 1-2% choriocarcinoma. tumor size: 3.5 * 3 * 2.5 cm. LVI and rete testis invasion were present. Tunica albuginea, epididymis, spermatic cord were not involved. Spermatic cord surgical margin was clear.

CT scan 6 days post-op reports nothing tumor/cancer-related.

First oncologist visit 10 days post-op: PET-CT scan requested. bloodwork is encouraging: beta-hcg: 2 afp: 38. PET-CT reports a nodular lesion measuring 1x1 cm with mildly increased (SUVmax 1) FDG uptake at the left obturator level. interpreted as a reactive lymph node but tumor possibility could not be ruled out.

2026 August:

21 days post-op: second ongolocist visit. bloodwork: beta-hcg: 0.6, afp: 17. MRI requested. the finding of PET-CT is not mentioned in the MRI but something new is: a nodular lesion measuring 21x18 mm in the paraceliac region, consistent with lymphadenopathy.

1 month post-op: bloodwork: beta-hcg: 0.3, afp: 5. this is the point where we had to decide adjuvant chemo (1xBEP) or surveillance. positive findings: dropping tumor markers in the blood. negative findings: LVI and two lymph nodes reported in the PET-CT and MRI, which couldn't be decided whether metastasis or reactive enlargement. based on all these findings, my oncologist suggested 1xBEP chemo. i also preferred it because the possibility of 3xBEP later on sounded like a more dire alternative to me. i already have allergic asthma and lowered lung capacity, so i opted for the adjuvant chemo.

i am currently in the 9th day of my BEP. took B yesterday. the first 5 days (1 BEP+4 EP) was somewhat easy, but the weekend was difficult. i didn't vomit but constantly felt myself in the brink of vomiting. fatigue, i could deal with. but the worst thing was the damn taste in my mouth. people call it metallic or bland, but i call that taste the taste of death. i hated it. also the smell. i felt like my body smelled like the medicines, or as i call it, smell of death. thankfully my friens helped me through my first week. as of this day, recovery is significant. i drove myself around without problems. 40 days post-op bloodwork shows beta-hcg: 0.2, afp: 4.

currently my biggest concern is the two lymph nodes in my scans and my biggest fear is RPLND. they will be surveilled after the chemo is done.

i will keep updating this post with news. stay strong guys. best wishes!

Our late baby

We used to always love and make fun of the mark on his belly, but never put a name on it. His "Bird cameltoe" popped in my mind immediately after I discovered this sub. We lost him 1.5 years ago and it still hurts. I had both tears and a smile while I went through his photos to post here. I hadn't been able to bear looking at his photos for a long time... 🥲

life has been throwing everything at me lately

i'm 38. two years ago, i was a pretty carefree guy. my job was really the only thing i had to worry about. then, over the past two years, everything seemed to happen at once. i lost two close relatives. my uncle died unexpectedly after what was supposed to be a routine operation. i loved him like a father. i also lost my father. we hadn't seen each other for around 13 years, and that left a strange kind of scar that i still don't really know how to process. i lost my budgie, too. oddly enough, that hurt the most. it probably sounds weird, but i loved him like he was my own child. he was the most precious living thing in my life.more recently, i was scammed out of three months' worth of my salary. then, two weeks ago, i had an orchiectomy, was diagnosed with stage 1b testicular cancer, and i'll be starting chemotherapy soon. all of this happened while living alone, far away from my family and relatives. at the same time, i've been going through what feels like a midlife crisis. i've never married, and i still don't plan to. having children has never really been something i wanted. but everything that's happened has made me question my life. i keep asking myself what am i doing with my life.

there are things i'm grateful for. i have a job that i genuinely enjoy. i'm financially stable enough that even if treatment gets expensive or difficult, i'll be okay. my family, friends, and even my coworkers have been supportive. i also know that my cancer is highly curable. but the diagnosis made me realize how much i've neglected my health over the years.

i've had asthma for years, and now the tests show my lung capacity is much lower than it should be. i've been missing two molars for nearly a decade because i kept putting off getting implants. i've had hemorrhoids for as long as i can remember and never really cared about them, but now i worry about every little symptom and whether it could become something serious. years of living a sedentary lifestyle are catching up with me. on top of that, the possibility of chemo worsening every other thing in my body, this idea is affecting me.

now i'm taking a handful of medications every day. at 38, i already feel like someone who's dependent on medicine, it makes me feel weak. like i've gotten old much sooner than i expected.

anyway, i just wanted to vent. this isn't only about the testicular cancer, it was simply the last straw. that's why i'm posting it here. thanks for the community by the way. i've been reading posts of others for some time, which helped me overcome the initial shock.

[TR] Just got scammed 3 months worth of my salary

And I feel like shit. Shame, stupidity, feeling furious. They got me on the phone for 1 hour, impersonating the bank's security department. All I want to say is, I'm almost 40 years old grown ass man. Always watched people who got scammed and made fun of them, couldn't believe how they fell for it. Believed that I'm too clever to be scammed. Even scolded my mom few months ago for getting scammed for some 1/20th of the amount I got scammed. Now I feel embarrassment and regret and anger. This is a very expensive lesson for me. I guess this is how life hits you in the face for feeling too high of yourself and hubris.

Edit: quick summary:

It was a super busy day at work. Someone called me saying they were from my bank's security department. They said people from another country tried to log into my bank account and withdraw my money, but it was blocked, so I shouldn't worry. Then they said I would get another call from my country's banking regulation authority. They actually called my work phone. They knew my home address and my car plate numbers, so I trusted them. For almost an hour they had me tell them how much money I had in each bank account and what my transfer limits were (yeah... stupid me). I was working the whole time and couldn't really think straight. At the end they said they needed to refund the money that had supposedly been targeted, and they sent me a fake email with a QR code. They told me to scan it. Of course it wasn't for receiving money, it was actually to send money. And I did. The second I sent it, I realized what happened. I called my banks immediately, but it was already too late. I went to the police and filed a report. This kind of scam happens a lot in my country, and there's probably a 95% chance I'll never get my money back. It was actually quite sophisticated. I skipped a lot of fine details that actually led to losing my judgement. I'll add them as I remember.

Philips Lumea attachments compatibility

We have a BRI940 (8000 series) which comes only with a body attachment (no bikini, face, armpit etc. attachment).

On the other hand, BRI951 and BRI953 (9900 series) come with the additional attachments I mentioned.

My question is, are the attachments of BRI951 and BRI953 compatible with BRI940?
