While this style of dress is appropriate for the novels set in the 1810s and 1820s, it's not at all accurate for the 1770s like this prequel.
It just feels like such a massive oversight from the cover designers / publishers.
Does this bother anyone else?
Hello, I'm just politely asking if people, especially those in the NR3 Silver Triangle area, would please consider moving their bins off the pavements and into their front or back gardens.
Why? Bins on the pavement:
- Makes it very difficult for people in wheelchairs or with pushchairs to pass
- Means there's not enough room for two people to walk side by side, or to pass an on-coming pedestrian easily
- May roll into cars causing scratches
- Could tip over resulting in rubbish in the road
- Can cause a smell
I understand that there may be a variety of reasons why that is the easiest place for them, but it makes parking trickier and walking around quite unpleasant.

I've got to the grand old age of 27 and decided it's time to read the books. (I've actually decided to listen to the audio book)

Omg I am hooked already and it's only been an hour! So much better than the film already 😅

Some misconceptions I had from only seeing the film that have been set right:

- I had no idea why Katniss didn't get on with her mum
​
- I didn't realise that when Peeta tossed Katniss the bread they were literally dying of starvation and his act of kindness not only saved her that day but also was the catalyst to start her hunting and gathering for her family
​
- I didn't realise that the extra entries in the reaping ball were because of tesserae. All these years I thought it was for transgressions (they can't whip or execute children so as a deterrent they put your name in the ball)

I'm excited to listen to the rest of this book and beyond.
