Levels with reduced lives

Two Dots is giving us levels where the algorithm has tweaked the number of moves. It might be mathematically possible to complete, but in practice it's incredibly difficult.

Take Level 8558. It gave me 20 moves - that's beyond difficult. Now when I go back to view it, it gives me 35 moves, which is reasonable, but it's incredibly difficult at 20. Why? You must get 20 "Target Tiles":

  • You start with four on the board.
  • You are only given 2 new ones every 2 moves, which means it'll take 16 moves to minimum to get enough (assuming you got every one).
  • Plus a move to get the last 2 tiles that just appeared.
  • You could then finish the level by activating the Zappers (assuming you have all the rest of the grass complete), total theoretical minimum 18 moves, but remember, your first move must be to get the top-right blue Target Tile, and next move must be the get the top-left Target Tile, etc. There are Trapdoors to take care of, and the board is incredibly small.

Level 8623 gave me 17 moves.. 8622 is even more ridiculous. 15 moves and you barely begin until you get the Beehives to expel all the Honey. 8621 has two Minecarts that you need to move 12 squares...not to mention all the fruit.

Who hallucinates more - AI or humans?

We're all familiar with AI hallucinating, but then again, people make up all sorts of things (Dunning-Kruger?). So who hallucinates more - AI or humans?

What are your fuel savings stats?

Mine are

€1,115.28 for 5,337 kWh of electricity to go 26,000 km (2300km+ in the first week)

(Equivalent petrol car €3,262, according to AI)

flights cancelled, airline's system is down

Yesterday I called Brussels Airlines. Sorry sir, our system is down, call back in an hour.

This morning I called. Sorry sir, our system is down, call back in an hour.

All flights have been cancelled today, including our (outbound) flight. I want to know our options (can we change both flights? we're only currently being offered tomorrow with one stop, and that flight will certainly be cancelled, so can we get another date?).

So I called again this evening. Sorry sir, our system is down, call back in an hour.

Of course flights next week are crazy expensive. I want to at least know if they can offer a seat next week (same/similar itinerary, just early next week).

What would you do at this point?

Do you use is/are and has/have in the UK?

Unfortunately I can't do a poll, but I'm interested in a singular/plural question. In the UK, do you say

- The Rolling Stones has sent me an email (logic: it, the band, has); or

- The Rolling Stones have sent an email (logic: plural)?

Same for is/are

- The Rolling Stones is selling its back catalogue (logic: it, the band, is); or

- The Rolling Stones are selling their back catalogue (logic: plural)?

Or make a joke with that good British sense of humour.

EDIT: Maybe Boots, Greggs, Specsavers, Marks and Spencer would have been better examples.

I'm writing in case this will be useful for anyone.

Terminal: LIS T1 (N)

Date: Wednesday 6 May

Arrived after 7am for a 10am flight. Total of about 25min in security. We were in the passport line from 8:04am to 8:59. We had to line up with everyone. As residents, we skipped the computers, just told the employee "residents", and we got to line up in the next line.

The whole process was annoying. Why did they let people cut the queue? There were many, but someone should either confirm they are about to miss their flight or send them back. The computers were not full, but the employee just stood there. Overall it was a long amount of time, but we were allowing for more. Obviously if it'd be more like 90 minutes then we'd have been running.

My pet peeve is when websites claim to only work on mobile. Usually when they want to use your camera. An example might be check-in or id verification. Yet shrink the window down, and hey presto, it thinks you're on mobile and the camera works just fine. Why, just why?
