Looking for somewhere to bring my dad when he comes to visit. Unfortunately (or fortunately for him) he's got a better collection of antique tools than any antique place I've been able to find so far. Looking mostly for hand tools.

I got a new refurbished iphone 15 from an Amazon seller. It was not charged on arrival and when I had it plugged in a while to charge it displayed this lock screen. Reddit tells me this is the screen of doom and that this phone is stolen/locked/etc.

But when I swipe up, I was able to get in the phone, put in my WIFI information and sign into my own Apple ID??

When I look up the IMEI numbers on the look up pages, they show it as unlocked.

When I go to the Find Me section on the phone, it say it isn't on.

I'm worried about bringing my number over to this phone if it is stolen or it could be bricked at any time by Apple.

I've contacted the seller to see what they say, but wondering if anyone has experienced this? Thinking about bringing it to the Apple store to have them check it out.

Edit: reply from the Amazon seller. Is this... legit?
