Survival tips for working with other timezones

Hi bitches!

I work as a PM in a big tech company and a huge part of my team and stakeholders is in Asia. I love them! But, lord, the odd hours are slowly killing me... 7:30AM calls. 9PM calls. The several messages that were sent while I was asleep and that need a response before the other person goes to sleep. Plus the regular hour calls due to the US part of the team.

Yes, I know the hours also suck for them. Unfortunately, changing jobs or saying no to late night meetings is not a possibility for me.

Even though I take breaks during the day for gym and errands, I feel like the whole day is revolving around my job, from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep.

If you have a similar situation: how are you organizing your life? Any advice besides setting boundaries or quitting?

... help!

Lenny and Friends Summit - worth it?

Hey everyone! I just saw that Lenny Rachitsky (from the popular newsletter and podcast) posted that he's organizing the Lenny and Friends Summit in SF this year.

Did anyone go to the first one? Was it worth it?

The lineup seems great, but I'm always skeptical of the quality and networking space of conferences.

Edit to add: Open to any recommendations of conferences that you enjoyed!

I’ve been working as a PM in Big Tech (non-FAANG) for almost a year now. I’ve realized that while I actually enjoy being a PM, I don't believe in the company vision/trajectory and, mainly, don't like the product and team I’m working on.

My plan is to try for an internal transfer later this year as a safer option, but I’m trying to weigh my options. I know the market is pretty rough right now.

I would like to know some of your stories. For those of you who weren't happy with your first job after graduation, how long did you stay before you pulled the trigger on a move? Did you move to the same position or made a pivot?

I’m also curious when you actually felt comfortable with the decision and if you ran into any issues explaining a shorter tenure during interviews.

Good luck for all of us
