Trying to decide if I should do the perimeter of the kitchen counters in a black leathered granite instead of the Mountain Danby Marble used on the island and backsplash.

The granite will wear better, is less expensive and is more visually interesting. The marble is my original vision and looks great but is more prone to damage.

Just visually, which do you think looks better? Taking everything into account what would you do?

Please don't tell me not to do white cabinets or marble at all. These are timeless colors and materials. I'm not chasing trends.
