Hysterectomy in Australia
If you had a hysterectomy in Australia how long were you in hospital? And did you have a laparoscopic hysterectomy or open?

Hi folks,
Would love opinions from those who have had a hysterectomy (kept their ovaries).
Background:
I had a LEEP(aka LLETZ) procedure in 2018 for CIN3. Negative margins but continued to test positive for HPV16 for the following 7 years.
In 2025/26 CIN3, still positive for HPV16. Got Gardasil vaccine and just had a cone biopsy. Gyno called today, margins were not clear. She has said we can do a colposcopy in a few months to see and decide between another cone or laparoscopic hysterectomy keeping my ovaries.
For context, I am 36 years old, and not having any more kids. I am however, having open heart surgery in November, so another surgery before that isn’t ideal but it is what it is. Would love to know what you guys would do? My main concern apart from the two major recoveries in the one year, is the potential for early menopause..
I am up to episode 3 and while it’s kind of interesting, I’m getting a bit bored and not really sure where it’s going. Does it get better? Lots of recommendations on here so I am assuming it does.. unless it’s just not to my taste
Hi all,
Just wanting opinions on what decision you would make if you were in my shoes…
I had a LEEP(aka LLETZ) procedure in 2018. Negative margins but continued to test positive for HPV16 with LSIL for the following 7 years.
In 2025/26 HSIL with HPV16. Got Gardasil vaccine and just had a cone biopsy. Gyno called today, margins were not clear. She has said we can do a colposcopy in a few months to see and decide between another cone or simple hysterectomy.
