Armored fiber grounding underground

Planning on installing an underground fiber run of about 600 ft between 2 houses. Will be using some smurf conduit buried maybe 1 foot down. And then within some armored fiber, which as you know, contains a steel sheath covering.

Question I have a whether I need to be concerned about grounding. There does not seem to be a clear consensus online.

To help mitigate the risk could a solution be to run the armored conduit underground and then couple each end with an unarmored fiber cable into each house?

Any thoughts or experience with this?

Realized the smells were coming from me

At the beginning of the year I started getting back into keto to get back in shape. Done it a bunch in the past and never had too many issues with smell but this time around it’s been driving me crazy

So when I first started working out again, I noticed these whiffs of funk at the gym. Like someone not showering or washing their clothes. The smell would be almost exclusively be at the gym, which was brand new and one I had just joined. At first I figured sometimes gyms are gonna smell but it did confuse me how a new gym could smell so bad all the time. At some point I did wonder whether it was me or something. Seemed unlikely though because I wouldn’t smell it outside the gym. And couldn’t smell anything when sniffing myself.

Of course paranoid me looked into it some more and discovered my synthetic gym clothes could be hiding the scent. I bought laundry antibacterial sanitizer and started washing my clothes better. And for the most part after that the smells at the gym went away. So I kinda concluded the smells were from my lingering BO in my clothes. But to be honest I was a little doubtful because again I could never smell it on me when I would sniff myself or my gym clothes. Maybe the gym fixed their hvac system or something?

Well more recently I had another bout of issues with funk that pretty much proved that the smells have been coming from me after all

Past few weeks I’ve been more diligent about my diet and unintentionally slipped into keto — something I realized because I started smelling whiffs of funk again. This time though not quite as pungent and in my bedroom, esp after waking up. At first I thought it was coming from my closet. Maybe something i hadn’t washed in a while. Maybe a synthetic blend. I thought I was nose blind to it before and now for some reason I could smell it.

Was driving me crazy trying to pinpoint the source.

Today tho I noticed the smell disappeared. And after thinking about it, the other night i ate a bunch of carbs and tonight i drank beer and had even more carbs. The smells went away once I got kicked out of keto

So connecting the dots, surely I have no choice but to conclude these smells have indeed been from me all along right. You would think i could sniff it directly
on myself or my clothes but it’s just pouring out of my pores

Jeez

Do you Have Poor Posture? Maybe Contributing to Hair Loss , Esp Diffuse Thinning

Been working on fixing my posture and have noticed quite a few changes. Thought I’d share some thoughts in case it might help people

First of all the impact of pelvic posture is huge. Pelvic tilt causes biomechanical strain where your pelvic floor is forced to compensate for stability. Results in a weak, stressed out pelvic floor from being clenched all the time. The thing is that your pelvic floor plays a big role in your autonomic nervous system. And when your pelvic floor is stressed it puts your sympathetic nervous system into overdrive. Constant fight or flight stress response. Obviously stress is not good for your hair. But beyond that a lot of downstream effects like affecting your sleep, cortisol bloating n your face, etc. And very importantly affects your dick. If you research other subs about PFS or HF, you’ll better understand the role of your pelvic floor. Has way bigger impact that you’d think. Just look into it if you don’t believe me.

Second is the impact of head posture. Like most of us I have a very forward head posture due to sitting in front of a screen all the time. I’ve started trying to correct this for simply aesthetic reasons but have been amazed to notice that it is resolving 70% of my facial bloating / swelling from minoxidil. Makes a ton of sense as moving my head up and back is allowing for fluid to drain properly. Part of me thinks that the posture could have been impeding overall blood circulation to my scalp. Because essentially my head was so forward shifted that the fluid was pooling up, causing swelling. Like a swamp of stagnant fluid. Poor circulation. Searching on this topic I confirmed others have speculated this as well.

Lastly there is something to be said about psychological benefits of better posture. There is research out there that better posture improves your confidence. You would think confidence comes first, then leading to better posture. But you have to realize the link the other way around. It affects your brain chemistry. It’s an evolutionary mechanism observed in animals going as far back as even lobsters. The point is that if a very powerful mechanism baked into our DNA. So don’t dismiss posture as some meaningless aspect of your health

I think for some people with very strong sensitivity to DHT, this posture stuff might not matter so much. Because the problem is beyond blood circulation. But for those with milder less DHT sensitive hair loss, with a more diffuse pattern, I think it could be a significant factor.

I’ve been on the drugs for about 2 years now. I hoped I would be a hyperresponder but tbh my improvements have been very underwhelming. I’m curious to see if correcting my postures unlocks ability to hyper respond due to renormalized blood circulation. If that’s the case who knows maybe I can stop treatment or significantly reduce my dose. That’ll be something to explore if I can somehow fully restore my hair loss with the help of posture correction.

In any case, even if it doesn’t necessarily boost hair growth, I can say that it’s worth correcting the posture for its effect on sides. Sexual and bloating sides are annoying as hell. It’s a huge relief knowing I can mitigate them to manageable levels now. Having hair but at the cost of my libido and lean face is kind of counterproductive. Less so now

Pre-Construction Meeting Worth It?

Recently bought a production new construction home out of state. Builder has invited us to a last minute pre-construction meeting, which would require a 12+ hr drive. I would like to make it to the meeting live but at the same time I wonder whether it will make any difference whether I go. If there’s any issues I see, will they even listen to the feedback?

I think for the builder it’s mostly an opportunity to sit down and review all the options we put in so eliminate any liability in the case they miss something prior to slab concrete pour.

But we will get a chance to walk the lot. Major things I plan to assess (please tell me if I’m missing something)

  1. Position of home on the lot (doubt there’s leeway to adjust)

  2. Grading of the lot to ensure water moves away from foundation and appropriate water drainage

I also want to see where setbacks and utility connections will be but that is info I can get without attending in person.

Any thoughts?
