I’m a Doordash driver, and yesterday I had two orders to pick up at Wendy’s. As soon as I got inside there was a family with this insanely hyper dog just barking it’s head off, clearly not a service dog because it wasn’t behaving itself.

It tried running up to me and I shot the owner a dirty look when it got too close. The AC inside of the building was broken and there were two people ahead of me. It took me over 20 minutes to even get help from somebody working there, but the entire time this dog is just barking, and it’s this loud piercing bark, I felt like I was in purgatory.

Who the hell brings their dog to a restaurant? That’s completely disgusting and unhygienic.

I just wanted to rant about this, if you don’t know the history of what’s happening just take a look at my previous posts, but to sum it up, I live with my mother and she has a dog and I hate the dog, she knows I hate the dog and it’s coming between us due to her.

Tonight we were watching fireworks and she brought the dog out to watch with us, which I hated but I bit my tongue. He stopped at one point and stared at something and my mom said, “there’s nothing there what is he doing.” And I jokingly just said, “he’s just dumb.” And my mom reached over and hit me. I said, “what’s the big deal? You call him dumb too.” And she said it was different because she says it in a “joking way.” I responded with, “he doesn’t even know what we’re saying why does it matter.”

I’m just pretty annoyed right now it kind of ruined my mood.

I’ve posted about this dog previously and the fact my mom owns this house and brought him into it against my wishes, and I couldn’t do anything about it. Well, today he comes inside stinking AWFULLY and wet, and immediately ruins my mood, super hyper and jumping everywhere.

My mom said, “you’re so cute, *my name* also thinks you’re super cute.” And she knows I hate dogs and I hate him and I’m just fed up with him so I replied, “no I don’t, I think he’s gross and ugly.” And she just went silent, lol.

I’ve done this before in the past and she says it makes her really sad and it’s rude of me, but I’m tired of her saying to the dog that I find him cute or even care about him. I know it’s kind of stupid and petty of me but I don’t care, if I have to listen to dog BS then she can put up with this.

Dogs are genuinely so disgusting and they make me lose my appetite, I can’t take it. I know dog owners who will eat and their dog is literally right next to them just panting right on their food with their gross breath and begging for some.

Dog owners get so offended when I say I don’t want a dog in the kitchen while I’m cooking or anywhere near my food. It’s unhygienic and gross. I was with someone the other day and they were petting a dog and then went to the pizza we had gotten, didn’t wash their hands, and started handling the food and getting some. Needless to say I didn’t touch the pizza after that.

Maybe I’m crazy and just paranoid, but does anyone else feel the same way? If I go to someone’s house and they have a dog and cook something, I will still eat, but I feel really grossed out because I don’t know how they handle the food and I don’t know if they touch their dog and then touch the food, it’s just nasty.

Just over a year ago, my mom bought a puppy. My dad and my brother like dogs so they didn’t mind, but I’d already told her that I disagreed with the decision since I still live with my family, and that I wouldn’t be helping out at all with it. My whole family knows I don’t like dogs but they treat my opinion like a joke and always poke fun at me about it, especially my mom.

As a puppy, he was very small and not overly hyper, I didn’t care as much. Fast forward to now… I hate being in any common area in the house because this stupid dog has to be right fucking there. Always.

He stinks so badly, it doesn’t matter if he is taken to get a bath, he still stinks. He barks at EVERYTHING, and his bark is genuinely piercing and annoying as hell, has woken me up countless times at night. My mom has trained him, but the problem is, he literally WILL NOT listen to anybody except for her. I told my mom that it’s very annoying when he’ll jump up on the furniture and refuse to get off even when I tell him the command. She said, “well you have to pet him and give him treats after and form a relationship with him.” Wtf? It’s a dog, it needs to listen, I’m not touching him, he is nasty, I’m also not forming a “relationship” with him.

My mom is CONSTANTLY doing the baby talk with this dog and it drives me so insane. Lately she has been doing the baby voice and saying things like, “go see *my name* he wants to see you, go give him kisses!” or other bullshit like that. I’ve just started replying to it and saying, “he’s disgusting don’t send him over here because I’ll walk away.” And my mom gets really offended and upset with me for it. Every single thing we do revolves around this dog.

Me and my mom used to take walks together, and now she refuses to go without the dog. She lets him stop and sniff things constantly, and he’s really bad about pulling and goes after every animal he sees.

He also sheds really bad because he has a double coat of fur so I’m constantly finding his fur on my stuff even though I never go near him if I can help it.

I know moving out would be the best scenario so I don’t want people to spam that in the comments, I don’t have the money so I’m stuck here for now and just needed to rant.

I’m 20 years old, I am sober against my will and was abusing Benadryl every single night for almost a year. 40-70 pills every night, of the 25mg pills.
