Anyone else noticing unusually high background battery usage on Pixel phones lately?

I’m using a Google Pixel 9 Pro and many apps now show more background usage than actual screen time. This wasn’t happening earlier and I’ve been noticing it for the last couple of months.

Even rarely used apps seem active in the background a lot more now. Anyone else facing this on Pixel/Android 15?

Google has promised seven years of updates for Pixel devices but after upgrading to Android 16 I’ve noticed a few minor issues.  However, after the March 2026 update the UI lags, photo processing takes a long time and the phone charges very slowly. It also heats up quickly and drains the battery quickly. These problems might be fixed in future updates but with the mid-powered Tensor chip and these kinds of updates I’m sceptical about how good the promised seven years of updates will be.
