I was gathering and did not wanna distract myself on taking a ss from computer, sorry for the mobile camera shot.

Can anyone help me to beat level 40 on campaign?

Sometimes, even after waiting 7–8 hours in the Path of Vengeance, I only get some 100 XP books and a small amount of resources.
Other times, I get commander sculptures. This is actually the first time I’ve seen it give me a key and a gold star like in the screenshot.
How exactly do the AFK rewards work? Is it completely RNG, or are there specific conditions that affect what you get?
I’m trying to understand how the reward system works.
