Stretch marks/wrinkles
I absolutely HATE my body. I’m going to be 3 weeks postpartum tomorrow. The weight gain doesn’t even really bother me, as I’ve been “bigger” my whole youth. However, these stretch marks and wrinkly looking stomach have me hating myself x1,000,000,000.
Why are they so prominent. Why. I know they get lighter over time. But the texture. I can’t stand to look at myself. Before I got pregnant I felt semi attractive. That has all flew out the window.
My husband says he still finds me attractive. He is very sweet about everything to do with my appearance but I just can’t seem to feel any sort of confidence at all. I can’t even bring myself to kiss him much or anything.
I don’t want to neglect him because of my own insecurities. I’m a ftm and I haven’t started working out or anything. I’m under the assumption I can’t until my 6 week checkup. I do the little core tightening exercises like but that’s really it. I’m exclusively pumping too so that’s also a new thing I found out I hate about myself.
The enlarged nipples and areola. How they constantly leak. Yes I have nipple covers but still. Just how different they look. How different I am now.
When did you all start working out? Please someone tell me this will get better. I’ve seen people getting the laser treatment to reduce the stretch marks. At this point in my mind I’d spend any amount of money to try and feel somewhat appealing. However, I know I have a long ways to go before I could even get that done.
Did anyone also feel this way? I just can’t bare to look at myself and it’s taking a toll on my mental. I love my daughter so much and I’m so amazed at what my body created. But, I hate the result of what it has done to myself.
I want to buy cute clothes, it’s so hot where I live, I want to wear short shirts again. I want to lay out while my husband and stepdaughter play at the pool. I can’t even imagine what I’d be like to wear a bikini. I don’t know how long I’m going to hate myself.
I just hope it’s not forever.
