Amazon Executives soft sabotaged The Boys after season 3 because too many people were making jokes and comparisons between Vought and Amazon, and not in a "corporate fun meme relatable way" that brands tend to do when there's a viral meme.

I think you can also see this in the changes in story logic and characters acting out of character. Amazon didn't want to kill the goose, but they wanted to make it less Amazon brand associated.

This is why we see a larger focus on Supe's shenanigans in a Hollywood allegory, or a religious or shady government or trump-esque(political in general ?) caricature and less of the faceless, massive, do-anything-for-profit corporation being relevant to the narrative.
