Does Thermolysis work?

I’m in the south east UK and suffering with Hirsutism, likely caused by PCOS/androgens. It’s very hard to find somewhere near to me that does electrolysis and that doesn’t have a crazily long wait time unfortunately (up to a year).

The best place I can find near me only does thermolysis, but I have very limited money and cannot afford to waste it on something that won’t help.

I originally tried laser but after doing some research it seems like it’s more likely to cause problems when treating hair on the face/neck.

Edit: I’m trying to get the root cause of the problem dealt with too, I have a gynaecology appointment soon. But for the hair that’s already there I’d really like some advice.

Struggling badly, need advice about the Pill

Been questioning PCOS, and I’m curious before/if I get a diagnosis if going on the pill (and which variation) helped any of your symptoms?

I’d like to know particularly about hirsutism & the pill, if you take it for high androgens and if it helped you.

I’m having an awful time and struggling badly with my mental health, particularly having face and body hair and would really appreciate hearing some experiences. Bottom line is I know everyone’s different and some treatments help some people and not others, but I’d still like to know from others’ experiences.

Does the Pill help?

I’m considering the pill and was wondering which type, if any, have helped any of you?

If you could also let me know if you were diagnosed with PCOS and/or heightened levels of androgens, that would be amazing.

I have a gynaecology appointment in a couple of weeks, and I want to know what your choice of medication was after finding out the cause of your hirsutism, and if it helped or not. I’m currently very confused and overwhelmed with the amount of info and potential decisions. I just want to finally be happy with how I look 🙁.Thanks so much for any help.

How common is using condoms only?

I’ve been looking into hormonal birth control but I cannot afford to gain any weight at all, I’m down over 100lbs and had a tummy tuck a couple of months ago. And because of my surgery and life circumstances I also can’t afford to get pregnant either, so ideally I’d like the assurance of multiple layers of protection. I have no idea what to do and I’m very stressed.

Would I be okay using only condoms, assuming we try our best to use them correctly? Has anyone else been using them for a long time without issue?

Start of a keloid?

Have these red raised parts outside where my scar was before, and was wondering if this is normal/potentially irritation or something I need to worry about. Thanks for any help/advice!

Advice about silicon tapes?

I was recommended them by my surgeon, and it looks like you’re supposed to wear them until they’re not sticking anymore - however I was also advised to massage my scar daily.

I definitely can’t take them off and change them daily because it would end up being crazily expensive, so just try and massage over the tape? I’d be interested to know what anyone else did, thank you 💕

Very worried about scar

One side (first pic) of my scar appears way more red, bigger and just generally worse than the other.

I’m about nearly 6W post op and more than sad, wondering if it’s something I’ve done wrong, or if it will pass.

Did this happen to any of you? :(
