Glycerin - tell us your secrets!

Glycerin - tell us your secrets!

I am new to glycerin! I got this one from local Walgreens. It comes in generic brands too, but I didn't see one at the store.

I'm still experimenting, and I love it!

  • I shower with it -- drops in shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Luxe!
  • I diluted it in water and misted on my face
  • A few drops on my face, after cleansing, while I'm still very wet
  • Mixing with day and night moisturizer
  • A misted layer before SPF
  • (Edit to add:) A glycerin layer before a hydrating sheet mask - holy cow, the glow!!

I have loved all of these!

This is a concentrated product and you only need a few drops per use, so I think it will last a long time. $7.50 for the bottle that should last months, which is so nice because everything is expensive. You know. And if this keeps me hydrated, in all the ways, I will use less of other products in my routine, stretching all my skincare dollars.

Anecdotal: Where I live, yesterday was extremely hot, and I felt more comfortable than usual. I wondered if my glycerined body was keeping me comfortable in the humidity. Weeks ago, I traveled to a warm and humid area (pre-glycerin), and I felt so gross the whole time and my hair got weird. Maybe it's a stretch that glycerin could do all this, but it feels plausible. :)

Since I'm still new to using it, I would love to hear tips from people who have been using it for a long time.

(I searched the sub for glycerin, and didn't see any recent in-depth conversations.)

I just programmed my lights to go off when I say "Shut it down," and it's way funnier to me than it should be. I have so many options on how to say it!

What else works?
