Trout mask replica

Struggled with the registration (handmade jig and manual paper positioning) of this 10-layer print I made for a friend. I really felt like it stretched my capabilities and learned a lot in the process!

Looks wavy but is flat

Found this rock in Scotland on the Island of Bute. It looks like it’s got waves or ridges from almost every angle, but the surface is in fact flat to the touch and when viewed from the side. What is it?

Homemade press

I haven’t pulled the trigger on a proper press yet, but I made one out of spare wood, some nuts and bolts and a hinge. It’s not perfect, and can really only help me with small prints but thanks to it I was finally able to print on some really rough artisanal paper that I bought on Etsy when I first started with linocut. Here is the process to print some little skulls.

Manchester airport drop-off charge

I have received a letter from a debt collector agency asking for 170 GBP to settle a Manchester Airport Drop off parking charge. For context: the vehicle was at the spot for less than 5 minutes. The fee should have been paid by midnight of the next day, but the driver honestly forgot. A parking charge of 60 GBP was sent to my previous address, as my vehicle's record on the DVLA was not up to date, so I never received the notice as the keeper. The letter from the debt collector is very threatening, and says they'll proceed with legal action if I don't pay within 7 days of the date on the letter, but the letter itself arrived already 10 days later than that. I am not sure how to proceed, as I'm not super keen to contact the debt collector agency.

Any help appreciated.

Runner ducks linocut (advice needed)

I recently switched from synthetic blocks to traditional hessian-backed linoleum blocks. I also transitioned to Caligo Safe Wash. I handprint as I don’t have a press, but sometimes I struggle to pull a nice full print, I always seems to have under-inked spots. This is the best one of this batch, and is not immune from this issue, what am I getting wrong?

Little egg in skillet linocut

Took a break for more ambitious designs to do a little carving of one of my favorite foods.

Hare test print

Some time ago, I saved a beautiful photo of a hare from somewhere on the Internet. Recently I made a 3-layers print inspired by it. I haven't figured out which colors I want to it, but here is the test print I did to check out the carving. I am also using this to test some new inks (Cranfield Caligo Safewash), so far I had used Essdee water based block print inks but struggled with them drying too fast between layers. This one I printed in a single sitting, each layer only minutes apart, which I thought could be an issue, but it seems to be OK for a small design.
