lost car title
I bought a car from Carvana and got a loan through Bridgecrest. I paid off the loan in september 2024, and, as far as I can remember, never received the title. There is a chance I received the title in the mail and threw it away with all my junk mail. I just got a ticket (i live in washington dc and in the same address since I bought the car) for an expired registration. To renew my registration, I need a copy of the title. I called bridgecrest and they said they mailed it in 2024 when the car was paid off. As far as I can tell from the DC DMV website, it seems impossible to get the title without the reg or the reg without the title.
is there ANY chance if I bother bridgecrest enough they will send me another title? If I insist I never received it?
Is my best bet to just go to the DMV and explain the situation and hope they can help?
Please be nice I know this was dumb on my end and I am already very stressed.
