In case you missed it, we installed two newly fabricated 40mm Bofors platforms on Battleship TEXAS this month.

The original "gun tubs" were removed by the Navy in 1946-1948 while TEXAS was being prepared to become a museum ship. Most of the removed shields were replaced in the 1988-1990 dry dock project, but these two were still absent. The guns that go in them overhang the side of the ship, posing serious safety issues for accessing them both for visitors and staff. A big thank you to Certified Pipe Services Houston, who donated their services to fabricate the new platforms!

Port of Galveston has posted their new 2026-2030 master plan for redeveloping the curse terminals. While they used the wrong battleship for the renders, its important to remember they are including Battleship TEXAS in them.

Information from Travis Davis from BTF. The new master plan leans into the battleship being part of the part an envisions a new commercial (retail/restaurants/hotels) area and cruiser terminal anchored by the battleship. However, they are just glad the city is including the battleship in their plans. It will help the ship and make the experience even better.

I spent part of my day going through my stores and found about 85% of 487 Space Cruiser.

This is to get it ready to sell in my bricklink store but I would love to keep it for my collection. Money is too tight to not to.
