It’s all there. The imagery in Fashion Trappin. Edward’s song Batman. Brennan’s classic crazy sid vicious look. Their love hate relationship. Is it possible, Edward never stopped creative directing for Brennan?

the general perception of gnosticism as a whole is incredibly pessimistic and doesn’t really drive anyone to actually participate in real life in a super healthy way. looking at the world viewing it as “created wrong” or “lesser than” is childish in my opinion, and obviously there are other interpretations but it seems like this is the most common one.
obviously there is going to be suffering with good. not just for perspective but because suffering just happens. things die. sheep get eaten by wolves. pain is real. but these things aren’t intrinsically bad, they’re just details. the only reason you can “mistreat” people is because it’s seen as mistreating them, which is a purely human idea. if we saw kicking a homeless man as a regular and humane action, people would probably do it more.
emotions like anger are less rational and generally less aware, just like most negative actions and reactions. the dirty, angry, and thoughtless caterpillars/actions are more simply “incomplete” and not fully metamorphosed into the butterflies of respect, care, patience, compassion, and joy to be shared with others.
if you gravely disagree with me, please convince me because i am keen to learn. i am not gnostic, or christian for that matter but i believe in a greater power.
but i can’t help but see gnosticism as a sort of delusional pessimism.

also sounds like there are noticeable differences in the songs, but i might be wrong. has anyone noticed anything different? specifically idgaf. but it might be because i stopped smoking weed

Given the depth of references and massive amount of ground the beats cover, I think it’s safe to say that Body of Work as an album should not be taken like other albums. Despite songs like Slavery, Chaos in the Order, Never Feel Again, and several variations of Art is Sucking The Life Out Of Me being too “dramatic” or slow, this objectively does not make a difference for me in musical quality and as a concept these songs make a great addition. A few of those songs also serve as thematic glue because they’re some of the only songs with similar and especially important lyrics.

I can see why people might not have the patience for Art is Sucking The Life Out Of Me, but these songs are well made, and important for the experience and their meditative effect.

In my opinion, this album shows how much more electronic and music in general can be explored. Beats on songs like I’m So Attatched, Mercay, Turn Off The Lights, Chaos in The Order, and Conference really show a new and fresh sound that has not really been heard in any way shape or form. That being said, it is even more of an experimental album than the previous releases and so can’t really be enjoyed in the same way other artists albums might be. I think all in all, it’s excellent as a release and hopefully will inspire a higher expectation of quality for future underground releases.

I don’t want to steal too much color from anyone else’s perspective, this is only my interpretation of the album.
