Help with wedding look
Hi! I’m looking for some advice.
It’s been a long time - like maybe 7 years since I wore full makeup and more like 10-15 since I wore anything more on my skin than tinted sunscreen/bb/cc cream and a touch of concealer.
I’m getting married this year and trying to figure out what to do for my wedding that will look more special than my everyday. I’ve been bombarded by wedding imagery on social media, and it seems like sun-kissed, warm and bronzed is the current vibe but I am pale and neutral-cool and I don’t think this would at all suit me.
I went to a makeup counter armed with a collection of pale and somewhat vampy inspiration that I thought would look great, and I did like the end result in store but looking at the images in more natural light a couple of hours later, I think the end result was a bit dry,
flaky and matte, ultimately aging and not as flattering as I’d thought. I also think the blush was too warm.
I’m wondering if I should redirect and aim for a more glass skin glowy k-beauty vibe with less on the eyes or there’s something else you would suggest I can do to make the look a bit more youthful.
Before using the lip tint in the picture, I tried charlotte tilbury matte revolution lipstick in cinematic red as it matched the red cheongsam I’ll be wearing in the second half of the reception, but it was a lot bolder than I’m used to (I actually find lipstick difficult and usually only wear lip stains). I’m looking for something moodier, less bright and less intense shade to wear with my white dress for the ceremony.
Pics are at the beauty counter, a couple of hours later, me with my normal tinted sunscreen, mascara and lip balm for reference.
