I know I’m pale and have purple / blue veins, but I don’t see any traditional pink cool tones in my skin either?
Every foundation I have tried either looks too pink or too orange on me! I’m really trying to not go back to fake tan, but I need to try and figure out my skin tone so I can get new makeup colours that work.
I don’t burn in the sun (don’t really tan either more of a gold cast)
Thank you 🙏
Hi this isnt exactly about makeup but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on being more pale im already pretty white but my skin has a pink tint to it it used to be more gray when i had an eating disorder and low levels in blood im healthy now but still want to achieve that Corse like look in a healthy way so if anyone has any tips i would be greatfull
Does anyone know of a pale friendly lip liner to go with Mac Alone Time lipstick ? I love the color but I always have a hard time finding which lipliners would pair well to keep that muted look ? help!
I struggle to come up with makeup for bright red clothing. Black smokey eye feels owerpowering, red lip and winged liner too snow whitey and vintage (lovely look just want something more modern).
I'm wondering if I'm the only one with this problem. I love the color red, and need a makeup look to go with it.
Maybe I need to tone it down? But then it feels like the face is bland and flat compared to the dress. Also it's for going out kind of occasion.
Question for the pale girlies:
How do you get your makeup to match your neck without washing you out? Do you put something under your foundation to make it look more like skin?
- #1 is Patrick Ta in 4 golden.
- #2 is Patrick Ta foundation in 4 golden with a hint of blue mixer and a pinch of red mixer (RCMA cream mixer palette) to make it less yellow
#1 looks good against my neck but I find it washes me out and looks too light with a flash. In general, in most lighting, I find that it ages me and makes me look a little sick. I need to use alot of cheek products to make it work.
#2 makes me look more alive and I find it more flattering on my aging skin (33) and it looks perfect in flash photography, but it looks a bit too dark against my neck.

Am i the only one? I don't like tanning, and we all know that it's not healthy, but i m just so tired of people making rude jokes about my skin. Like i know, i am very pale, but they act like it's the first time they see someone with pale skin.
Im so incredibly tired of spending $40 on luxury powders that claim to be completely clear, only to step in natural lighting and realize my face is suddenly three shades darker than my neck.
the beauty industry really loves to gaslight the pale club into thinking we just don't know how to blend properly. but no, your hyped up formula just oxidizes into pure orange the second it touches my skin. I was looking at flash photos from a club we went to last weekend and I literally look like I'm wearing a peanut butter mask while my chest is paper white. its so embarrassing
I threw my expensive sephora powder straight in the trash the next morning. Im officially done with western brands charging a premium for colored dust that ruins my base. I just dug out a basic club translucent pressed powder from my travel bag and have been using that instead because im too annoyed to shop for anything else. at least it actually stays invisible and doesnt turn me into a carrot by noon.
is it really that hard for these massive cosmetic companies with millions in r&d to just manufacture something with absolutely zero pigment?
Hi! I’m looking for some advice.
It’s been a long time - like maybe 7 years since I wore full makeup and more like 10-15 since I wore anything more on my skin than tinted sunscreen/bb/cc cream and a touch of concealer.
I’m getting married this year and trying to figure out what to do for my wedding that will look more special than my everyday. I’ve been bombarded by wedding imagery on social media, and it seems like sun-kissed, warm and bronzed is the current vibe but I am pale and neutral-cool and I don’t think this would at all suit me.
I went to a makeup counter armed with a collection of pale and somewhat vampy inspiration that I thought would look great, and I did like the end result in store but looking at the images in more natural light a couple of hours later, I think the end result was a bit dry,
flaky and matte, ultimately aging and not as flattering as I’d thought. I also think the blush was too warm.
I’m wondering if I should redirect and aim for a more glass skin glowy k-beauty vibe with less on the eyes or there’s something else you would suggest I can do to make the look a bit more youthful.
Before using the lip tint in the picture, I tried charlotte tilbury matte revolution lipstick in cinematic red as it matched the red cheongsam I’ll be wearing in the second half of the reception, but it was a lot bolder than I’m used to (I actually find lipstick difficult and usually only wear lip stains). I’m looking for something moodier, less bright and less intense shade to wear with my white dress for the ceremony.
Pics are at the beauty counter, a couple of hours later, me with my normal tinted sunscreen, mascara and lip balm for reference.
Products are as follows:
Foundation - Nars light reflecting foundation in Oslo
Concealer - mixture of several different shades including Morphe Wakeup Artist Under Eye Correcting Concealer in Peach and then in Papaya with a couple of different lightest shades of Morphe Wakeup Artist Under Eye Complexion Concealer, but I didn’t get a chance to see the specific shades used.
Contour - Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick in Biscuit.
Blush - rhode pocket blush in sleepy girl topped with RMS Beauty. ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush in pomegranate fizz.
Powder - Kosas cloud set translucent loose setting and blurring powder in translucent candy
Eye shadows - multiple shades of taupe from the Mecca Max Heat of the Moment eye shadow palette (bottom row) matte shadows, with a light shimmer on the inner corner from a different palette, but I’m not sure which.
Lashes - Too Faced Ribbon Wrapped Lash Extreme Lengthening Mascara + Mecca single flair medium & long individual lashes.
Setting Spray - Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush
Lips - Violette_fr lip nectar in Betiseq
Hi 😊 I was wondering if NARS chantilly concealer is their palest face product from NARS.
Is there a foundation / skin tint from NARS that is paler than Chantilly?
My skincare is immaculate
I use hydrating serums, tretinoin, double cleanse and generally look like a glazed donut, I prep my skin well and have tried every primer from grippy to hydrating, my skin is generally normal with a little bit of dry and gets oilier through the day like most humans
Every single foundation looks like I’m a dusty, crusty mess who hasn’t heard of exfoliating even before I try and use a teeny bit of powder
I apply with a beauty blender (brush makes it worse)
Zoomed right in on some photos where you can see it’s clinging to dry patches despite literally just exfoliating
HELP!
I apologize if this is repetitive. I am looking for an SPF product that is fair enough for me. For reference, Missha 13 is bordering on too dark. I am very pale and pastey
Im also open to a very fair colour base I can put on top of spf. I often have issues with pilling. I have been wearing SPF sunscreen alone but I really want to get back into wearing light makeup sometimes.
Im 36 so something decent for someone with fine lines and such.
Actually liked my makeup recently for a change! I wore something similar to a wedding a fortnight ago, and think I'm finding my go-to look! ❤️ Just need to get better at applying lipstick 😅
Foundation - MAC Studio Radiance 'NW8' Concealer - Collection Lasting Perfection 'Porcelain 2' Eyeshadow - No7 Eyeshadow Trio 'Warm Suede' Mascara - Maybelline The Falsies Surreal Lipstick - L'Oréal Rouge Signature Matte Liquid 'I Enjoy 103'
Just need to find a contour that works 😂 and maybe a primer/skincare for the pores-
I think I’m cool toned but not sure because I look really yellow compared to my friends who are fair and cool. I think I have rosacea so idk if that changes things and I get pink rashy skin on my arms so I’ve used my chest/neck. TIA!!!!
Picture 1 & 2: indoors fluorescent lighting
Picture 3 & 4: indoors warmer light

Swatch picture 7 & 8: inside fluorescent lighting
Swatch picture 9 & 10: outdoors overcast.
Swatch shades top to bottom (all concealers, kosas is my only good match)
I normally just straighten my hair but decided to curl it today. I also think it might be too dark in colour for me…

I'm on the hunt for a foundation to wear to my best friend's wedding. I was recently shade matched in store to 06 FAIR NEUTRAL in Rare Beauty's True to Myself Natural Matte. Do you think this is a good match?
I know very little about makeup so would love a second opinion before I buy it. Here's some swatches in different lighting.
Thanks!
I am an October 2026 bride, I’ve always done my own makeup but recently I’ve decided to save money by doing my wedding look myself. I’ve done random looks over the last year to try and get closer. I think I’ve landed on pink tones, instead of brown, I feel like it gives more of an ethereal vibe. I used the tiniest amount of makeup today as well, no foundation just concealer all over. Idk how that would actually hold on the wedding day though, so I’m doing a wear test to see. Makeup is shown in different lighting as well.
I love the eyes and blush the most, I probably will wear foundation day of.
