I wanted advice on how to make the cloak less orange to contrast better with the hair and torso. Ended up drybrushing the cloak grey and tried my hand at some wet blending to make an autumnall gradient. Think it came out much better than before!
Constructive criticism is welcome.
My friend bought this at a flea market in France, and I unfortunately broke the shade. I of course want to replace it but we have no idea who the manufacturer is. She was only visiting France so she can't go back and ask either.
It appears to be old judging by the cable. The only markings I've found are "162" beneath the ceramic bottom (right side of that photo, hard to see).
Can anyone tell me anything about this lamp or perhaps if I can find a similar shade somewhere?
tl;dr suggestions for changing the color on the cloak. Color suggestions and how to proceed.
I've decided to go for an orange autumn theme for my sylvaneth. I'm using zealot yellow from Army Painter. So far I've used on all the spectral parts on the revenants, and also on the warsong revenant in the photos.
But then I thought I could use it on his leaf dress/cloak as well, as long as I used enough brown as a base coat and didn't go too heavy on the white before applying zealot yellow.
And now I think the entire thing just looks too orange. So, how do I best change color of his cloak without stripping the entire thing? If I want to make it, say, red, could I drybrush some white and then apply a red wash for instance?
Also, suggestions on color are welcome. I don't know if I should aim for autumnal red, or just make it brown. Or perhaps I could try a gradient, going from brown, to red, to orange. But I don't have a ton of experience and I'm not sure I could pull it off.
