Love getting quiet fired over college break with zero communication
Just need to vent about the absolute cowardice of store management.
I’m an undergrad, and I’ve been doing the college-break routine for a while now. Work my ass off during breaks/summers, go on inactive status while away at school, and get reactivated whenever I’m home. It’s worked fine every time until now.
I reached out to get shifts lined up for this upcoming break, and suddenly it’s: "Sorry, there just aren't any shifts available right now."
Then I go to check, and I’m completely wiped from the systems. No Legion schedule, no heads-up, no email, nothing. Just wiped off the roster with zero notice.
If corporate slashed payroll and you don’t have the hours to give out, just have the balls to tell me straight up. If you purged college associates from the roster, say that. Don’t hit people with the passive-aggressive ghost routine and softly push them out the door while pretending "shifts are just tight."
They expect a two-week notice and professional courtesy if an associate walks out, but when it’s on their end, you’re just disposable payroll meat. Definitely not coming back to save their cowardly asses when holiday madness hits.
Anyone else deal with their SM doing this exact quiet-firing bullshit to college workers?
