Not sure if news has traveled, but a dead tree fell on the path less than 10 feet away from us near the entrance/exit of the Grizzly Giant trail yesterday in Mariposa Grove. Was around late afternoon and we got about a 3 second warning before it snapped and fell.

Luckily, nobody was injured as the trail wasn’t overly packed and no one had headphones in. Can’t imagine how many more people would have been at risk during Memorial Day weekend.

Picture attached. Not sure if the rangers have cleared the area yet.
