advise for the early game: rotate playing outpost and completing traxus / nucaloric contracts

by level 30 you should have a regular supply of greens and blues, heals and weapons, ammo + attachments that help deal with losses

constant access like this will eventually snowball to better loot as you progress

taking a break from contracts in outpost will just help expose you to pvp and also drip feed higher tier loot whilst you progress

even if you dedicate at most half an hour a day on either of these, premades / crew fills or solos, you’ll eventually feel less reliant on free kits and rook (unless you enjoy the zero to hero vibes)

crew fill things 💕

you gotta go into every game and be the main character but sometimes i just wanna be the funny lil recurring extra in someone else’s story :(

Game Mode Sponsored mode Warden Rush

thinking rotating game mode where only a small portion of the map is used, literally just a POI

3v3
2v2v2
1v1v1v1

everyone spawns into the POI with green sponsored kits with smokes + bubble and bots, the rest of the map is in lock down (so still traversable but take damage unless you find an antivirus), one single extract, access to all relevant loot related to that poi, warden boss roaming in the POI with adjusted level of bots depending on queue. all items taken can be exfilled with unique skins related to completing challenges

20 minute matches, thinking about like CQC fights in like dormitories, airfield and more long range open air fights in maintenance, algae etc

rare but opportunities to find compromised keys that find can be used to open rooms that are in the POI (no matter fixate drops here tho to avoid exploiting as a key farming to take outside)

Gotta approach the MarathonHate community with so much more grace

just came across a post complaining that the game is now in fact too easy.

Yes, with all the onboarding issues and difficulties that new players face, which we as a community have agreed PLENTY of times, it turns out this may not actually be the case???

they even said that their fave ex pro apex player got slapped by a complete NOBODY when they first tried Marathon, so clearly anyone can pick this game up and play it.

Marathon - beat your first ex pro apex player today!!

the way I *hate* duos, hit the most satisfying lick ever last night as rook

shout out to my friendly duos in crew fill but this is for all the entitled bum buddies i’ve had the pleasure of filling with

maybe we’re all just casuals who had a sweaty moment

i free kit trio fills
one guy afk (they come back but they seemed to struggle)
other teammate had a key
by gods grace i find a green mizzy and a green shield
proceeded to wipe the entirety of outpost while one of our guys went AFK

i think i free kitted maybe 3 times before this mostly just trying to get some bullies and ofc didnt have a great time until this

title is mostly just a joke but this one experience really has changed my perception of the type of players that you run into in game

like yeah “i keep dying to sweats!” - possible? considering the playerbase, very likely but i think that only validates your inability to comprehend that maybe you bumped into someone who’s probs “worse” than you but they popped off

the game is very punishing i agree, but some people don’t see that they are devaluing people’s experiences when they complain that only sweats/streamers are having a good time

End of Season Check In

as we approach the end of the season, just wanted to say - whether you’ve put in 1 hour or 300 hours, no matter what the future of this game looks like (hopefully bright), i love y’all and hope we continue to foster and grow as a community, but most of all have fun!

wherever you are in the world, wishing you blessings, guidance, and good health! ❤️
