What's up with people breaking into malls over Swatch watches?
I just saw a story about a huge crowd at King of Prussia Mall trying to force their way in before a Swatch release, to the point where people allegedly broke doors and police had to respond.
I’m completely out of the loop here. Since when are Swatch watches worth this level of hype? Is this tied to some limited edition collaboration, resale market, influencer thing, or what?
I remember Swatch as colorful mall watches from the 90s, not something people would line up at 4am for. What changed?
