The death of Sou stands out as one of the most heartbreaking and seemingly sadistic events in Danganronpa franchise, of course it is. Ikeda subjected Sou to high-temperature water for several hours until he expired. While this timeline was explicitly designed to maximize the dramatic horror of the killing game, a realistic medical analysis reveals a comforting truth: from a scientific perspective, it is biologically impossible for Sou to have consciously endured that agonizing torture for hours.
First and foremost, the human nervous system cannot sustain consciousness under such extreme thermal trauma. Water temperatures high enough to destroy skin cells—estimated around 71•C based on the story's setting, would trigger neurogenic shock within the first few minutes. This massive surge of pain overloads the brain, causing an immediate drop in blood pressure or sudden cardiac arrest. Therefore, Sou’s heart would have stopped beating long before the "hours" mark, shielding him from prolonged suffering.
Furthermore, the environmental conditions of the crime scene would have caused rapid unconsciousness. Being bound and subjected to continuous hot water in an enclosed space creates an immense amount of high-temperature steam. Inhaling this vapor leads to immediate thermal burns in the respiratory tract and severe pulmonary edema. As a result, hypoxia (lack of oxygen) and heatstroke would have forced Sou into a deep coma within less than 5-7 minutes, effectively shutting down his sensory perception.
In conclusion, while the fictional lore of Tetro Danganronpa: BLUE stretches the timeline of the murder to create a fucking ass mystery, reality offers a merciful correction. The hours that Daiki left the water running did not represent hours of conscious torture for Sou. Instead, science confirms that Sou’s suffering ended swiftly in the opening minutes of the assault, allowing him to pass away far sooner and with much less pain than the story's narrative suggests. At least, maybe Ikeda's death is more painful, cause he was slowly burned tớ death.
She has SO much potential
Try reading her wiki, dude. Subtle, cunning, scheming… what a shame we never got to see her in action! She might be the only female character Von actually put real effort into (since Zenji, who was confirmed to have a romantic connection with her, was confirmed dead in Chapter 1). I can totally see her becoming a Kokichi- type, a first true female antagonist among the Fangan series I’ve followed. What a waste, honestly 😭😭😭.
