TL;DR: Need advice on improving or keep enjoying playing maimai. Played maimai since splash once a week, started to play less since Circle Plus since already got 14.5k rating as personal achievement and playing the game was not as fun as before.

Hello everyone, as per title said, I have not enjoying maimai like I used to be. Usually I play once a week on weekends (3-4 hours) but starting Circle I have reduced my playtime to once every 2 weeks (partly due to other responsibilities).

I got my 14k rating on around end of year 2025 and 14.5k rating at Feb/March 2026 (I grind 3x per week at that time). Since I played maimai, I realized that getting 15k with my frequency of playing and improvement rate seems like a pipedream.

Now, I felt that I was not enjoying the game as much, the last time I felt pure excitement was that when I am unlocking kaleidoscopix mode from the beginning (RIP wallet).

Question: Any advice to either (1) improve my skills (touch player, my accuracy sucks at 13+ and inconsistent spin or trills) or (2) keep enjoying the game? I am planning to take a full break from maimai maybe. Life's also not been very exciting, especially this year. Thank you for reading until the end.

TL;DR: a 30 y.o corporate slave (specializes in data and business development) who do not have any other soft skills and currently exploring side income ideas or prepare for work abroad because bad job market (both abroad and inside)

Hi everyone, as per title said, I wanted to ideas from everyone on what kind of side income jobs that everyone do right now (especially for those who have office jobs).

There are 2 main reasons as of why I started this thread:

1. The job market. I heard my company has announced a hiring freeze (this has been happening at other companies too). I want a plan B and a second income stream, since climbing the corporate ladder doesn't seem to be the meta right now.
2. Finding something that sparks my interest outside of gaming.

Current situation: 30M, working as corporate slave (Supply Chain and Business Development, mostly data related) for around 6 years. Working on weekdays from 8-8 (include commuting time). Have around 150-200 mio as savings in form of IBKR and other savings such as national government bonds and national stock equities.

I worked as a private tutor in 2025, but it didn't go well, and the pay was very low compared to the time I had to invest.

Things I like or might want to try: video editing (clipping), game reviews (articles or maybe videos), and/or YouTube content on business and economic news (like this channel). I'd also like to try TCGs (e.g., Riftbound), but I doubt I can compete with people who invest all their time in the game.

Things I probably wouldn't enjoy: food/travel content on social media (KOL/influencer work).

I'd also like to work abroad (was targeting Japan) but given the current global economy, I doubt I'll land a job anytime soon without a referral.

Question: Are there any side-income ideas that might work for my situation?

I also recently built a gaming PC and might want to explore local AI.
