For anyone using Omarchy, i made a dofus almanax widget for the Omarchy bar

I keep forgetting to check the almanax, so I made a small plugin for the Omarchy bar. It shows today's offering. Click it and you get a calendar for any other day. There's also a search, so you can find when a certain bonus comes next.

Works offline after the first sync. It uses Paris time, since that's when the almanax flips. The data comes from Dofus pour les Noobs / Dimtopia. Nothing is bundled, your machine downloads it.
The UI is in French because the data is.

PS: if you want a different language ask and ill try to implement it

Complete beginner trying to fix my standing desk's control panel — where do I even start?

Hi everyone, total beginner here, I know basically nothing about electronics or soldering, so please explain things simply if you can!

My electric standing desk stopped working. It was fine, then I pressed a button and it just turned off and hasn't worked since. Electricity is still reaching the board (I can feel it's live), but one spot near where a white wire connects to the board is getting noticeably warm/hot.

I'd love to fix this myself instead of paying around $150 for replacement parts, and I've always wanted an excuse to learn a bit of basic electronics repair, so this feels like my chance.

Some details:

  • There are two small circuit boards inside the control box: one connects to the motors that raise/lower the desk, the other is the keypad/display panel with the buttons and the height number on it. They're connected to each other by a small cable.
  • There are two wires (one black, one white) that look like they were soldered directly onto the board by hand, instead of just plugging into the connector, this is exactly where it's getting warm.
  • Nothing looks burnt or melted, it's just noticeably warm to the touch.

Questions:

  1. Could a wire just getting warm like this mean a bad solder joint, or could it mean something else on the board has failed?
  2. I don't own any tools yet, what's the first thing I should buy (I'm guessing a multimeter?) and is it safe for a beginner to test this myself?
  3. Any good beginner resources for learning how to check a board like this without accidentally hurting myself or making it worse?
