The band was absolutely having a blast. Jim was smiling the whole set and laughing at one point. Great setlist and the vibe of the whole event was really fun and non-corporate. And they used their entire time. Maybe left one minute on the table. 🤘
I’ve really come to enjoy this song. It always makes me think of that super famous First Edition (or Kenny Rogers & the First Edition) song Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In.
Does anyone else get that vibe? Or is there another inspiration that I’m missing?
One thing I love about the band is how, even for the composed or expected portions of songs, the potential for something that is unexpected occurs during a song. Where the band has to adjust on the fly to something unexpected or out of the norm. My favorite to date was the 2017 summer tour opener at the Ascend in Nashville. They played The Way That He Sings earlyish in the set and something was a little off in the timing. And they played the opening section for an extra measure or two.
