Anyone here admitted to the MSc Epid program?

I would be happy to connect with my future classmates at the department of Community Health & Epidemiology 🙏

(Student Visa) + (Parents w/ Green Cards)

A friend of mine is applying for a study permit (PhD) to Canada. Her parents have green cards but are still transitioning to the US. I think that mentioning this fact will be beneficial to her case as it will transfer her emotional ties and future employment plans from her country of citizenship (which is not in a good shape compared with Canada) to the US. She is reluctant to do so as it significantly reduces her ties to her home country. She and her parents have other close relatives there too.

- Do Canadian Consular Officers look for one's parents foreign residence permits and citizenships in some international shared info databases?

- What do you think? Considering five other facts:

(1) Her husband (a citizen of the same country as hers) has had a family-based work permit in Canada since before their marriage, and he is there currently along with his PR-holder sister.

(2) The applicant's sister and widowed mother-in-law reside in her country of citizenship.

(3) The applicant and her husband have three real estate properties in their country of origin.

(4) The applicant is going to apply for one of the skill-based categories of the US immigrant visas as soon as she hopefully arrives in Canada and takes a breath. The process takes years and she would graduate before her interview for this visa.

(5) Their country of citizenship is one of the 75 countries, whose nationals' immigration cases are on "hold" by the US government and are not currently adjudicated.
