My parents always used to say "we're just trying to prepare you for the real world". I think they were 100% right, but not in the way they expected.

After being an adult for some time now, I've started realizing that my parents were right. Life IS as miserable as they made it out to be, and I have no desire to keep trying. Except, they thought "preparing me" would make me tough to face the world, but it only made me realize just how much everyone and everything functions JUST like them. Narcissism is valued in this society. It's what gets you somewhere.

I fully believe my parents are a human conglomerate of anxiety & stress caused by this system. They thought they were preparing us for it, but they ended up showing me how flawed all of this is.

So why the fuck am I even here, trying at all? Putting myself through this unnecessary stress .. for what? I see everyone in this society as examples of what I will one day turn out to be, I want NO PART in it. I wish I could at least start over without knowing all this and be blissfully unaware so I can actually live like a human being.
