I feel defeated

I (29f) moved in with my boyfriend (32m) along with his two dogs from a previous relationship. I always considered myself a pet person I love cats and I’m okay with dogs. But being around these dogs have made me start to dislike dogs. The first instance was when one his dog’s crashed into my leg sending me to the floor and resulting in getting staples on my head (accidents happen), the older dog has been getting doggy dementia that has resulted in her barking at random times from 5AM to 6 AM every single day, and with that came inconsistent poop and pee. The older dog has pooped and pee throughout our apartment that I can’t take off my shoes as I am scared to find poop or pee. I have reached this breaking point between his alcoholism and the dogs it just feels like a losing battle ( I finally asked him how important dogs are for him and if he would want a dog forever and he said yes and I finally told him I don’t ever want another dog after the youngest one has passed away) he then proceed to say that I need to chill out, but I am speaking my truth

Finally getting to walk away

Hi all I posted here once already and let’s’s just say things haven’t gotten any better between myself and my Q. The AA meetings didn’t help (he said he was getting better that it’s a process and to be patient) and the intervention with his family didn’t as well.

At the end of this year I have promised myself to not to renew a lease with him. I have come to terms that I will end this relationship. With that being said I have to continue to pretend to still be in a relationship around him (mostly cause we live together and I don’t know how much arguing I have left in me to tell him I don’t want to be with him).

I can’t do it anymore I honestly hate myself and who I have become. I hate being a nagging girlfriend or the girlfriend that goes through his phone, because he is lying to me and I know he is. I hate the extremities of my emotions the resentment and who I have become. I hate his family for trying to keep us together (they have dealt with his own mom being an alcoholic)

I don’t even know if getting treatment will honestly make me hate him less. Yet I still love him, he understands my humor and my jokes and we can be playful around each other. We go out on dates and watch trashy tv together.

But I am grieving a relationship that I still part of. I’m still thinking of what to get him for Christmas. I feel defeated by his addiction

I had to edit this post due to typos

When is time to leave

Hi all,

I think I’m finally beginning to accept that my relationship with my Q (31m) is coming to an end. I knew that my Q like to drink because when we first started going out we would go out for casual drinks. Everything changed last year when he got laid off from his job, all of the sudden he went on a binger that lead him to the hospital because he got himself locked out of his own apartment and his neighbors were scared for him.

A month later he was back to drinking and trying to quit cold turkey that led to hallucinations and withdrawal medication from a doctor after sleepless nights (turns out he was drinking to go to sleep). After the withdrawal medication I thought we were finally good, he was trying again to get a job and fix our relationship among other things.

We then decided to move in together at the start of the year, but after a bachelor’s trip to Vegas (he swore up and down that he didn’t drink because he didn’t have money) I found him passed out in air mattress surrounded by alcohol. He then went on to a sob story and said he will try again. All

That has happened since then is more drinking and more arguments. Trying to forgive him

In the process and in the hopes that our relationship can be saved. This time it has changed he finally started to hide the alcohol better, I only found out because I started to recognize his patterns when he has had a drink. The charges on his debt card and the bottles in his car are the proof of my assumptions.

I just I need to know when it is time to finally move on from this. How do I mourn the future that seem so promising when he wasn’t drinking.
