I started drawing a week ago. I started it to relax but it's not relaxing anymore, so many "Fundamentals" to learn, I feel like I don't get why I started drawing, because it's obvious this isn't as relaxing as gaming. Would like hear what keeps you guys going.
"Anatomy" "Perspective" "1000 cubes" "line work" "shadows" "loomis method" "4 point perspective-
What am I even supposed to learn. I started this hobby to relax after my work but this feels more difficult than my work, All I wanna do is draw naked people. I realize that drawing takes years to get good at but I don't even know what to learn, there are so many things that makes it confusing to learn, I don't want to be a professional I just wanna draw realistic bodies which I'm aware is pretty difficult to draw, I don't have any art classes nearby all I can do is learn from youtube. My job feels easier at this point, atleast it has clear steps on what to learn, everytime I ask someone or social media for drawing advice, each advice is so different It just clutters my mind. Started couple weeks ago. Yeah it's too soon to complain and there are better ways to relax after work but I can't stop thinking about drawing but when I do I'm always disappointed and hate myself for trying to draw.
This is the most confusing thing I've ever picked up to learn, so many random terms and techniques to draw, everything just feels random, nothing clicks. Why do I have to draw a 100 cubes when I just wanna draw realistic human bodies. And I hate asking for advice everyone just makes drawing more confusing I wish I had art classes nearby but I don't.
I just want to relax by drawing and not learn 5000 cubes

Hello there, I started drawing as a way to relax but my standards are high, I know it takes years old drawing and learning fundamentals to get where I want, but learning fundamentals makes it feels like work, I get that so I seperate my fun sessions and my practice sessions so I don't go crazy while drawing, Sure I'm supposed to drop my standards when I'm drawing for fun but I can't do it, even when I draw for fun everything I draw feels so fucking awful. YES I KNOW to stay patient with the process but my fun sessions don't feel fun anymore it just turns into evaluation session, I expect frustration from learning fundamentals but draw for fun is frustrating too, I already feel like giving up eventhough I started just 9 days ago, I started this for fun, relaxation after a long day, drawing what I love, Infact my study sessions feel better cuz I expect it to be abit frustrating but when I draw for fun I feel the same. Please help me. I don't wanna hate this hobby of mine which I started for relaxation
What the fuck is wrong with me. I started just a week ago, to just relax after my work and now I hAve to draw 5000 squares, Anatomy, and whatever the fuck youtubers say. All I wanted to do was relax not this shit is more difficult than my job, than working out. Just why. Why did I have to ruin this hobby of mine, how the fuck is one supposed to enjoy drawing if all they draw is straight up ass, literal ass, fucking piece of shit hand can't even draw a vertical straight line for fucks sake, yes I see minir improvements now all I have to do is draw 1 million cubes YAY I'M SO EXCITED TO DRAW SOMETHING SO FUCKING BORING AND CRY EVERYTIME I DRAW LIKE THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED WHEN I STARTED DRAWING, TO CRY OUT OF RAGE EVERYTIME I DRAW YAYYY. MEANWHILE EVERY YOUTUBE TUTORIAL MANAGES TO CONFUSE ME EVEN MORE. No seriously how the fuck do I learn? How the fuck Do I enjoy? How the fuck do I not feel like a failure everytime I fucking draw, how the fuck do I learn when everyone says some different fucking advice that all contradict each others. My job feels easier at this point, just why? Why did I start drawing? Just to suffer? I hate drawing, I have ruined it for myself, I guess I'll never enjoy this ever again, Getting hit in the face by a boxes is much better than this bullshit. I quit? Do I? I don't fucking know. I don't feel like it but drawing just hurts my mental health more. Fuck my life
It's been a week since I started drawing, I started drawing faces from yesterday and found out about Loomis method, I still feel clueless about what I'm drawing, everything feels abit random. Also can someone tell me how to draw vertical lines without looking wobbly? My straight lines look fine ig
I have no idea what's wrong with me. I started drawing a couple weeks back, this is so much more difficult than I thought, am I really supposed to draw a million different shapes for the rest of my life? I like to draw way too many different things and all of them suck, everytime I draw it looks so f****** dog sh** I feel anger seeing it. Wtf is wrong with me, I enjoyed drawing bad drawings when I was a kid now as an adult everything I draw it makes me really frustrated, it feels like it measures my self worth or something. All I wanted to do was draw humans and now I have to learn a billion f****** cubes, Cylinders, circles for the rest of my life??? Really? I should also mention I never stuck with any skill long enough to get better so ig I don't have that beginners mindset or whatever. The YouTube tutorials that make me feel like I need to learn perspective, anatomy, 50000 cubes, 7000 circles. I started this hobby to have fun now it feels like work, my job feels easier than drawing at this point. What have I done? Wtf is wrong with me.... Just why?
English isn't my first language.
Embarassing to say but I'm not good at any skills I've ever tried. I never stuck long enough at any skill I ever tried to be good at, cuz I always hated being bad at a skill I just started learning. Drawing made me realise how low my Patience is, This wasn't fun to draw. Yes learning is and slow, This is just my day 1.
I just look up Tutorials on YouTube to learn but it's so damn confusing. Everyone says something different and it just overloaded my brain with way too much information, it's frustrating.
It's obvious that you'll suck at something you just startetd learning but it hurts my ego. Didn't expect to get riled up over drawing
