Full Mock. Write ups + comps + floor (hope you enjoy)
Put a lot of time into a full lock with write ups for each pick, trades, and comps/floors. Would love your thoughts!
Fun Idea. 3 years after the draft. This is my re-draft based on how each player will actually perform in the league.
Every time there’s a draft within three years, everybody’s like let’s completely re-draft this concept. And what happens in the draft itself is ppl over swing on upside or they fall in love with some consensus players that just end up not quite fitting the modern game.
Obviously, this is very subjective, but I’m curious to get everybody feedback.
DP goes 1. He was the consensus guy coming out of high school for a reason, and even in a college season that wasn’t perfect, the shot creation, pace, feel, and ability to operate in space still flashed at an elite level. If some of the inconsistency was tied to conditioning or body maintenance, there’s a real chance NBA spacing unlocks even more.
AJ still has superstar upside and could absolutely end up the best player in the class, but I do think there are fair questions about how quickly the jumper translates from range with his slight hitch. That gives DP the narrow edge. They are in their own tier tho.
Darius Acuff feels like ppl aren’t realizing how good he was in the SEC. Acuff is just going to score, and teams will live with defensive concerns if the offense is real enough. He’s also just a dawggg and fans will love him.
Karim Lopez feels like the classic international player we’ll eventually look back on and wonder why he didn’t go higher. Tall, smooth, fluid, and able to shoot are traits that almost always age well.
Cameron Boozer is going to have a very good NBA career. He’s productive, smart, skilled, and understands how to impact winning. But he also feels like the type of player who gradually slides a few spots in future re-ranks as other players develop more explosive upside outcomes.
Alex Karaban is exactly the type of player that rises in re-drafts. He’s been a winner everywhere, understands how to play, and fits into winning basketball. Maybe he never becomes a star, but players with size, IQ, shooting, and versatility almost always outperform where they were drafted.
Same idea with Joshua Jefferson. He projects as one of those high-floor wings every playoff team wants. Defensive versatility, connective playmaking, and scalable offense tend to matter more over time than people initially realize on draft night.
Lastly, bet on college productivity late in the redraft.
Thoughts?!?
First Mock
Tried to mesh each player with the best team fit and where I think they may go.
But trade at 1 & 2 but makes sense to me.
