I've been reading about the self-immolations by Tibetans since 2009, over 150 documented cases, most protesting Chinese policies in Tibetan areas. Curious how much coverage or awareness of this exists inside China.

Is this covered in Chinese media at all, or is it not really discussed domestically?

If you have heard of it, is it framed differently than how Western or exile media covers it?

Anyone spent time in Tibetan areas (Sichuan, Qinghai, Gansu) and noticed the security presence or local sentiment mentioned in some reports?

Not trying to start a fight, just genuinely interested in perspectives beyond Western news or Tibetan exile groups. Appreciate any insight.
