Consultancy workload

I wanted to ask, for those doing CA work in consultancy, what your average workload is.

I'm currently working on about 10 projects in various RIBA stages (most of which are onsite) with a total value of around £30m. I've got junior surveyors assisiting me but generally i'll have to be onsite around half the time with them. Around half the projects are overunning so there's EOTs and L&E we're having to work through, along with trying to manage poor contractor performace and the BSR.

At the moment im working a few hours in the evening and started working a bit at the weekend however it feels like I can't keep up. Have addressed with my line manager whose said they'll look at additional resources but nothing much has changed.

I've stared to look at other roles but concious if its the same accross most consultancy work, maybe it's just not the sector for me.

Salts though concrete floor

Have started renovating our kitchen - removed some old (probably) asbestos floor tiles which has removed some of the bitumen they were fixed on with. I've noticed in some areas of salt deposits on the floor - property is a 1920's ex local authority house with solid concrete floor in the kitchen.

My concern is the house may not have a DPM beneath the concrete, and the bitumen and tiles were acting as a DPM, so removing and laying laminate may cause the damp to come though.

Wanted to ask if anyone had a similar experience and if its worth doing a coat of liquid DPM under self levelling as a precaution?
