I got my gallbladder removed in 2022. Sometimes when I drink I’m fine, other times I have severe acid reflux, bloating, and end up throwing up (and not from being too drunk, just from the pain). Sometimes one drink has me stumbling, and other times 6 drinks leave me unaffected.

I’m not a heavy drinker. I drink maybe 3-4x a year- usually for events (birthdays etc).

Was wondering if anyone had any tips to make the effects of alcohol more consistent? I’d like to be able to enjoy a little aperol without having to stress abt the potential abdominal pain or blackout that could ensue.

I’m already taking RX dexilansoprazole 60mg daily and OTC gaviscon/ pepcid/ tums/ nexium as needed, so preferably not the antacid route bc it doesn’t help much with this specific issue

I’ve been on Movisse for ~10 years, on and off (ie there was probably a year or two of celibacy where I didn’t take it). It’s never caused me any problems or side effects.

I’ve been celibate while on it and also have been sexually active while on it and genuinely can’t remember a single time I spotted (if I missed or was very late on a dose I’d get a regular period).

For the past 2 ish months I’ve been spotting on and off despite being diligent about taking it daily at the same time (within a 30 min window, as I’ve always done for a decade). The spotting seems to always coincides with sex- if I start spotting it’s always a day after I have sex. But there’s times I don’t spot after sex too so idk

The only new thing in this equation is the partner I’m seeing, but I went to the dr and she did all the swabs to check for anything I could have caught (std wise I guess) and also to check cervical cells and whatnot. She said everything was normal results wise and also appearance wise it looked fine (I thought maybe cervical bruising or something could’ve contributed to the spotting).

She said this is probably just from the pill. But I’ve never experienced this before so I feel skeptical about that being the cause.

Was wondering if anyone has experienced this or anyone has insight on anything I should consider that I’m maybe missing?

Took 4 pregnancy tests out of sheer caution and all are negative.
