I posted earlier this month about how my lodge in Staffordshire province where I am an EA was considering disbanding. We have been able to get real support to move to become a football special interest lodge, supporting fans of all teams and the grassroots game. Although I can't say I'm really a football fan, I have agreed to remain the assistant secretary and support the club to grow and progress. It would be amazing to connect with others in special interest lodges to share best practice. Thank you for your support.

I'm looking for free or very low cost venues where I could get a group together? I'm currently meeting at Dudley Central library and it's not very accessible.

I joined a lodge as an entered apprentice in Staffordshire in February and learned in May they planned to merge with another lodge in the same building. We went through a lengthy process of agreeing everything, including me being assistant secretary for a year. Then, without any real notice, the other lodge pulled the rug from the merger. I begin to get calls from the province and the other lodge about my intentions with offer, no joining fee. Truth is, I'm annoyed with how childish everyone is being and why can't anyone pick up a telephone or write an email. I'm concerned that this lodge is likely to dwindle, and I'm sad my mentor and sponsor are both going to retire instead of carry on.

I'd appreciate any advice. I am meeting to close the lodge on Friday and thinking about the best course of action. I joined for the charity and camaraderie, but I'm not finding a lot of either.

I got this job as a youth worker for eight hours a week in West Bromwich, UK. My 34th job in 15 years. I got invited to a "employment skills" slash no-one-wants-to-work bitchfest with some factory managers. Everyone saying young people want to get famous instead of working. I was thinking, would you take a job if there was access to a studio or a library of equipment like cameras, phones, laptops, and a recording studio? Tell me if this is dead in the water.

Hi, I am doing a diploma in web application development at Dudley College in England. I am a youth worker and really interested in feedback, active support, and radical transformation. I have been working on KwaCart an app for facilitating conversations and tried hard to make the app easy, lucrative and fun for AAC users.
