I found $2,400 hidden in a dresser I bought on Facebook Marketplace and I still haven’t told the seller
Bought an old dresser from a woman who said she was clearing out her mom’s house after she died.
When I took the drawers out to carry it upstairs, there was an envelope taped underneath one of them with $2,400 cash inside.
I still had her number. I could have texted her immediately.
Instead I put the envelope in my desk and told myself I’d think about it.
That was three weeks ago.
I haven’t spent any of it. It’s literally just sitting there while I keep finding reasons not to message her.
Every time I open that drawer I feel like a piece of shit.
