Full Switched to Linux but can't Update BIOS?

I just went fully to Linux about a week ago when I got my new laptop. The problem is that I can't update the BIOS because it is only for Windows. I have an Acer A14-52M. The BIOS is just an .exe with nothing else. The main reason I want to update the BIOS is because of how my screen looks, sure there is a small amount of bleed on one of the sides but that isn't the problem. The problem is the whole screen looking overexposed. And one of the BIOS updates literally says, "updates brightness table." So it'd be nice to have. I'm not sure how I'd go about updating the BIOS though, would I have to reinstall Windows?

Why is it recommended to use the terminal for some things such as Steam and OBS but otherwise use the PacketManager?

I'm very very new to Linux. I'm just wondering, how do I know what I should use the terminal for vs what I should just use the store for? And also, how do I know I'm not going to accidently get Gnomed... I am going to be using Fedora KDE.
