Positive Update

DISCLAIMER: not medical advice. See your provider!!

It’s been one week since I saw my PCP after 6 months of debilitating and worsening symptoms. After examining me, she told me it looked like dermatitis from the steroid NOT the disease worsening. She advised me to only use the steroid on my one white patch by my clitoris and NOT to use it everywhere else. After one week, I feel literally 100x better. My one LS spot still itches, but the redness, chafing, and BUMPS everywhere else is gone. I CAN WALK AGAIN!! She told me that the steroid is highly effective on LS skin, but my healthy skin does not tolerate it one bit. I can’t describe the relief I have after 6 months of debilitating symptoms that got worse and worse over time. Once again, not giving anyone medical advice, but if your symptoms are not improving after months of treatment, see your doctor.

Nearby Skin Affected from Steroid

Has anyone had issues with the skin adjacent to their vulva getting red bumps and very chafed almost? Not the actual vulva, the areas a cm or two away from it. I feel like it’s from the clobetasol but I don’t use more than a pea sized amount for the whole area.

Red Bumps

Has anyone experienced red little bumps on vulva by vestibule? Its a newer symptom for me going on 4 months on clobetasol and I am once again wondering if its the disease or my skin reacting to the steroid. It literally looks like little red pimples which is a brand new symptom for me during this flare and this is the longest stint of consistent clobetasol use for me

Worsening Symptoms

I (26F) was diagnosed years ago but was in remission for about 5 years until this April. I’ve had a flare since then and it’s been absolutely awful and worse than it ever was prior to my remission period. Did the typical clobetasol regimen and still using daily but I feel like my symptoms are literally getting worse (itching, redness, sores at my vestibule). Not only are my symptoms worse than last time, but the sores are new and were not there when I originally started treatment back in April so at this point it’s hard to tell if it’s irritation from the steroid use or just inflammation that I can’t get under control, but I’m completely at a loss. It’s severly affecting my life and mental health. I can’t exercise. I can’t stop thinking about it every second of every day. wondering if anyone else has had experience of symptoms getting worse with clobetasol usage after about four months. I should add that when I was first diagnosed, the clobetasol kicked all my symptoms in about 30 days.

Also, can’t get an appointment to see a specialist for months. My GYN is for lack of a better word useless.
