Update: The late night Badminton plan actually happened

Posted a late-night badminton plan 3 days ago, expecting 2-3 people
We were a solid 5-person gang playing badminton(good for this sport)
might do this regularly on the Kothrud side if people are interested
I guess this is what being truly SOCIAL is called
thinking of doing a pickleball vibe next

update: the random football plan actually happened 😭

posted a random football plan here yesterday expecting maybe 1-2 people max
ended up playing proper 4v4 (earlier total 12 ppl had confirmed - last moment many canceled)
funniest part is most of us didn’t know each other before this
weirdly wholesome experience ngl
might do this regularly around Kothrud side if people are interested

i finally understand why activity meetups work better
chai meetups = awkward pressure to talk
football = people naturally vibe while doing something

trying something simple: Late night BADMINTON in Kothrud

I'll share the exact location if you are interested.
We are 3 ppl already - let's play Casual Badminton in Kothrud late at night if possible
I know a couple of spots near City Pride or Karishma Society where it's not so illegal to have fun at night

Comment of dm if interested -

We just shipped a cross-platform app (Android + iOS) — open to collaborations / freelance work

Our team recently finished building and productizing a mobile app for both Android and iOS.

It was a solid build for us, and we learned a lot about shipping fast while keeping the system clean and scalable.

I personally love working with interesting clients - before this app client, we were working on a very interesting idea for an online social therapy website.

Right now, we’re open to taking on new projects, collaborations, or freelance work.

We mainly work on:

  • Mobile apps (Android / iOS)
  • MVP development
  • Backend + full product builds
  • Productized systems (not just one-off delivery)

If anyone here is building something and needs a team to execute, feel free to reach out or DM.

Always open to networking with founders and other builders as well.

“This subreddit has more meetup discussions than actual meetups.” Let’s reduce the ratio slightly. Football this weekend?

I have read a lot of people complaining from both sides of the spectrum in this sub
- everyone wants to just meet an F
- All meetups are just CHAI
and a lot of trollers

Kuch weekend scene nahi hai toh let's play football?

ps. If you suggest other sports, we can think accordingly.

what’s the most exciting/random/wholesome meetup idea you wish actually happened in Pune?

not the usual “let’s grab coffee” stuff

i mean things like:

  • midnight chai after rain
  • strangers playing football under floodlights
  • a group trying the worst-rated cafe in pune on purpose
  • sunday morning photowalks
  • 5 people doing a ₹100 challenge across the city
  • random badminton tournaments between complete strangers
  • people watching sunset silently somewhere

feels like everyone wants “better weekends” but nobody really talks about what that actually looks like

curious what people here secretly wish existed
If it could be anything whats your bright idea?

i’ve been trying to actually meet people from here instead of just commenting

posted 3 small chai plans over the last few days
got a few dms, people seemed interested
but when it came to actually showing up… nobody did

not blaming anyone, i get it, it’s kinda awkward to just show up to random plans
but clearly there’s a gap between “sounds nice” and “i’ll actually go”

for people who have gone to meetups from here, what made you actually go?
what made it feel comfortable enough to show up?

posted here yesterday about a simple chai + walk plan
a few people reached out, so we’re actually doing it
keeping it small and chill (3–5 people max)
if anyone else wants to join, you can hop in

  1. chai + long walk
  2. badminton / some activity
  3. Some Sports meetup - football, basketball etc
  4. café hopping
  5. just sitting and talking somewhere

Curious what people here actually prefer

Feels like the city is full of people but somehow you still end up sticking to the same circle. Apps feel like endless chatting, and randomly approaching people irl just feels awkward. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but curious how people here are actually meeting new people?
